From the villains standpoint, he himself obviously isn't a bad guy. It's a stand-off of two champions from his perspective. The villain obviously has different values, so he's not talking about bravery or kindness or whatever but strength and drive.

It always takes me out of the moment when someone who could easily kill someone takes seconds to slowly pull back their first or take aim or whatever kind of weapon it is, obviously so someone can jump in and save him.
You can do that type of moment without that stupid dramatic pause, how does that even make sense anyway? Why would the person doing the killing even do that? They're already gonna kill them.
