So these are the new episodes for season 2? It's eehh.. it's a bit more entertaining because they actually leave the fucking house for once and the plots are much funnier and actiony.
But otherwise it still feels like a generic comedy show similar to Dan Vs. and The Looney Tunes Show, rather than an artistic talented mystery adventure show with genuine charm and sentimental things put into it. It's just that I'd rather see a cartoon show get handled by differing teams every season, rather than get stuck in one infinite loop with the same mediocre creators for 16 seasons.

Also I don't understand your obsession for disregarding every positive or turning it into a negative, aswell as wishing for the show to be something that currently it's not and most likely won't be until mid season 2 hits,and even then that's a stretch, not even Borutski is sure about the shows current fate.
Regarding the show (content wise), the tropes and cliches are being executed fine, the critters and their hijinx are engaging, something I can't say for most generic shows out there, there's nothing worse than a generic show that's also bad, writing has definitely improved a lot unlike the writing in shows like "Wabbit", and that merits more than a "eeeh" to me.
I also find there's definitely plenty of charm and artistic merit in the show despite its budget shortcomings, if anything it's its charm and characters what carries the show through several episodes.

Fellow anon, what you are seeing are Shinda's refined/polished pencil sketches, his roughs are as rough as they get, the man is a veteran, he has been drawing for a very long time (decades) , as you said, his drawings may look simple, but they are anything but that, there's nothing simple about what he does, drawing from imagination, keeping the likeness of the characters intact and allowing their personalities to shine through gesture.
All that good stuff, it takes time and discipline, he has been drawing cartoon fanart alone for more than 5 years now, as /IC says, "no shortcuts".
Sorry if I come across as too forward, I just don't like seeing potential drawfriends bring themselves down.

The Good:
-Chester is occasionally funny.
-The character designs are strong, and the setting is unique.
-What little animation there is is done competently.
The Bad
-Chester gets too much dialogue, most of which is expository.
-The stories have not delved into any of the hows and whys of Mina and Bunnicula's relationship.
-Bunnicula is voiced by Chris Kattan.
-The writing is rarely smart, or even witty. There's a lack of energy and pacing, and this is compounded by the fact the show rarely leaves the confines of the apartment building.
-Too much action take place off screen or are awkwardly concealed in order to save on animation budget.
-I repeat, Bunnicula is voiced by SNL D-lister Chris Kattan.
I want to like this show, but it's difficult to recommend when there are many far superior choices airing. The characters are quite waifu-able, but surely you would not have asked for a review if that had been the main concern.

+I don't see how the main character getting "too much dialogue" is an issue on itself, also, Chester is the most grounded character, if anything it's only right for him to deliver the exposition, I would rated hear him deliver dialogue than Chester or Bunnicula, albeit too much exposition is indeed an issue, as they say "show don't tell".
+I would like to get more backstory on the characters too, again too much exposition delivered through dialogue; the showrunners have been quoted time and time again saying they are actively trying to get that ball rolling on season two, silly if you ask me.
+I also find the writing to be hit or miss, more hit than miss as of late; in fact it’s kind of shocking all the things they manage to get away with given this a show aimed at seven year olds.
+The show doesn't lack energy, but does lack proper pacing; because of this a lot of the shows premises are wasted, (“Sven” and “mumkey business” are the biggest offenders) and as a result its energy misplaced.
+The budget cuts definitely show.
+ We get it, you dislike Kattan, most people do, I do, good thing is his dialogue is limited to a few lines of gibberish every episode, luckily for both of us he isn't trying to portrait Mcbeth.
Yes, there’s plenty of other shows better than Bunnicula out there, I would recommend it if you love the horror genre, are tired of the so called “calarts” style (I don’t even know) and are looking for a show that isn’t continuity heavy, cute critters and great waifus are definitely a plus.
