I can't believe this is happening. I never thought they'd conclude Hey Arnold after it was cancelled so many years ago.
I grew up with "Don't hit me! I'll hit me!!" and I saw the movie in theaters when I was 12 and when I was 14 I never thought we'd find out what happened to Arnold's parents becayse at that time no cartoon was ever brought back after being cancelled (FG wouldn't come back for another year) but after 12 years we're going to find out.

Arnold wins a contest that the prize is a trip to San Lorenzo. Not the jungle per se, but the capital. They end up searching for Miles and Stella when Arnold starts following clues shown on the map.
Of course, the contest was a ruse perpetrated by billionaire Sammy Redmond as payment to Arnold (via Phil's request) for helping him with his reconnection to his son Alan.
The whole thing was coordinated by his old flame Dr. Bliss, who is a Naval Reserve psychologist with connections to naval intelligence and JAG. Her superiors believe Arnold and company are the perfect crew to flush out La Sombra, whose river pirating exploits have grown to include coastal waters off San Lorenzo.

exactly that. if I remember correctly they went through about four Arnolds throughout the show's run because puberty kept on happening to the kids playing Arnold.
The original Arnold was the best of the four. I never really did like the later ones.

You're half-right. Lila is a great character, and alwayd was my favorite for whatever reason when I grew up watching this show. Although, the fact that she "like-liked" him only to plain old "like" him when he finally returned her feelings?", never once considering giving it another shot was pretty disheartening. Worse yet, she falls for his similarly looking but INCREDIBLY boring cousin, Arnie, adding insult to injury.
Aside from that, she is a great character, she could really use some redemption of some sort in the movie, like actually helping Arnold hook up with Helga or something.

That definetely had a lot to do with the persistent discussion the series had well after it stopped airing. All the talks about the could-have-beens coupled with enough quality material to go on were what really made this fandom.
Its much like if you write a very good book and tear out the pages for the last couple of chapters, people are gonna offer different interpretations about whot would have happened. Only, Hey Arnold! has the benefit of not only being an excepionally written series with great, relatable characters that feel realistic, as it also is a part of our childhoods, which is something you never really forget, and if you had the choice, you would relive it.
This fandom has had to live with the fact that their beloved series would probably never really have a resolution, and they choose to cope with that by making some of the best fanart Ive seen, discussing the characters and how they would end up and shit. For this reason alone, I would prefer for the Jungle movie to have a more open ended conclusion instead of neatly tying everything up, so that we as a fandom can continue to wonder and fill in the blanks. Arnold is too good to have it end only the one way.
