So whatever happened to the "War of the Four cities" plot that Hickman was building? Now we suddenly forget all that and the Kree invade the Earth because reasons.
>>83747613
Iirc a lot of Hickman's plots got streamlined for him to jump ship over to Avengers. He had far more in store for Doom too.
>>83747648
I enjoyed Hickman's Avengers untill Secret Wars. I thought we were gonna get Reed vs Reed with the Maker being pissed over our Reed for leaving the council. But no, Doom Wank
>>83747695
We did thoughfor a page
>>83747695
As soon as Doom wasrevealed to be Rabum AlalI knew we were in for some quality doomwank.
>>83747797
Hickman wanted to make up for the fact that in the end, for all of his "All hope lies in Doom" spiel, Doom wasn't that important in the grand scheme of things in his FF run.
>>83747797
I really liked Hickman's Doom but that was just too much
>>83747930
Wait, months passed between Johnny's death and his return?
It sure didn't look like it, the only indication of time passing was between the death and the begining of FF. Everything that followed seem to occur on the exact same day.
>>83748060
>Do you want to die?
>Yessssss
Fucking bullshit.
Annihilus' ENTIRE CHARACTER is based on his thanatophobia. He is so afraid of death, that he wants to kill everyone else in the universe to guarantee that nobody will ever kill him so he can live forever.
Has Hickman never read a single Annihilus story in his life?
>>83748110
Thanks
>>83748138
I don't think he's read much FF period
>>83747915
Here's JOHNNY
>>83748170
lel
>>83748158
Still, it's amazing how he managed to screw up the one consistent thing about Annihilus' character, fear of death, and turned him into the exact opposite, death-seeker that can't die because reasons.
>>83748179
The offering to what? Why did the Universal Inhumans keep doing this stupid ritual again?
>>83748170
I'm a little upset I didn't think of that
>>83748171
>You don't die in the Negative Zone
This is a further example of Hickman blatantly ignoring continuity. If you can't die in the Negative Zone, then why the fuck was Annihilus always trying to become immortal and killing anyone because he was afraid of death?
Also, didn't we already see what happens in a universe without death in the Cancerverse?
>>83747819
yeah, it kinda was. still turned out to be awesome.
Hickman just needs to keep the complexity down.
>>83748356
So, WHY is Annihilus keeping the Cosmic Control Rod on a stick instead of on his neck?
>>83748331
Thing is, it wasn't complex. It was convoluted because Hickman wanted to keep identities a secret when, in the long run, it wouldn't have mattered. If anything I would have found his run more compelling had I known that it was Doom the whole time.
>>83748148
You welcome.
>>83748381
so Johnny can grab it.
>>83748490firmly grasp it
>>83748387
yeah. it would have been nice to see a long exploration of Doom's work instead of a last minute data dump. On the other hand, if the reader knows it's Doom and the heroes don't, that's a big no-no.
>>83748490
That's the plot reason, what's the in-universe reason?
And why couldn't Johnny have just grabbed it off his neck?
>>83748523
Why could the heroes not know though? It wouldn't have changed anything. Doom was untouchable.
>>83748500by the shaft
>>83748599
>>83748607
Hickman still refuses to explain WHY Black Bolt must have 5 wives I see.
>>83748631
nigga's got needz
>>83748557
how would they have found out? they were busy with Infinity and the Bridge and Black Swan and of course, punching each other.
>>83748685
Only because Hickman chose to do that. Have someone tell them during all that or something.
>>83747613
>>83747648
The whole plot about Alyssa Moy, Maestro Jr. and Natalie X also went nowhere. Galactus stops caring about it >>83748662 and they're never seen again.
>>83748631
he explained it earlier in this run. the Kree created Inhumans among other species. Then they killed them all (see the prophecy bullshit earlier) except for humans and these four. Black Bolt having a wife from each species is a medieval style marriage treaty.
>>83748769
That's not really much of an explanation. Why must he marry them NOW, why have they never been a thing before? Why does he even have to marry them for the different groups to be united? Why do the different groups even have to be united when they have nothing in common other than Kree science hundreds of thousands of years ago?
Whoo, that was a long one.
>>83748701
> Have someone tell them
I guess Black Swan could tell them, which would mean she wasn't a complete liar like she was originally.
the mystery would then become "why is doom doing this?" instead of "who is doing this?" That would work.
that reminds me: I'm still pissed off we never found out of Black Swan was an alt-Sue or alt-Val.
>>83748875
>that reminds me: I'm still pissed off we never found out of Black Swan was an alt-Sue or alt-Val.
That's whatUltimate Kangis for
>>83748830
well, the Kree don't like them and tried to wipe them out. Allies would be useful. And, um.......uh.........Black Bolt's really cool and stuff........
>Why does he even have to marry them
harem fantasy and alien-fucking
>>83748925
huh? I knowUltimate Kang is Suebut I don't get the connection
>>83748994
There isn't any, just saying that the twist was used somewhere else was all.
>>83749043
I dislike how Hickman portrays Kristoff as so subservient and groveling to Doom, with no initiative of his own.
>>83749084
>Reed's security systems for the ULTIMATE NULLIFIER are so bad a child can crack them
You suck Reed
>>83749189
Not any child, Val. The genius.ugh
>>83749274
>>83749289
So why did the SI never do anything against the Inhumans until just now?
>>83749346
>Whoever holds the Cosmic Control Rod rules the Negative Zone
I'm not sure that's how it works...
>>83749437
Hey Franklin, remember that time Doom sent you to Hell and had you tormented for God knows how long?
Good to see you've gotten over that.
>>83749694
I liked the Doom story that followed this one
>>83749595
>>83749623
This isn't how Celestials have ever talked
>>83749849
>Total ****
>>83749673
I STILL don't understand what exactly the evil Reeds wanted to do on Earth.
>>83749849
these are batshit crazy Celestials from one of the alternative Reeds unverse
>>83749876
As I understood it, use every resource it had to create a weapon powerful enough to waste the Celestials that destroyed the Council. (Sol's Anvil) The downside being that constructing Sol's Anvil would destabilize several cultures, and using the weapon risked obliterating the planet.
>>83749993
Remind me what these Celstials want again?
>>83750037
>>83750050
Why the hell are these children doing all this? Why didn't they call actual superheroes for help?
>>83750042
These Celestials are basically insane. They wanted the Council as a staging area to conquer all realities. The Council fought back, so now they want to kill the remainder to remove them as impediments.
>>83750133
All busy currently taking on the Kree armada / keeping debris from turning Earth into a wasteland.
>>83750106
>Universal constants
I'm gonna have to call bullcrap on this one, because we've seen countless alternate futures where none of these "constants" ever happened.
>>83750147
>All hope lies in Doom
Surely there's plenty of other people fit for the job other than Doom.
Here's something I've noticed in Hickman's writing: things are important because he says so, regardless of whether or not it makes sense in the narrative or the fact that other solutions are possible.
>>83750341
>It knows
what did he mean by this?
>>83750320
Yeah, you see it constantly. Characters will insist things are important or that only they can fix the problem, even if in the end they really aren't or if anyone with half a brain could think of many alternate ways of doing things. He has an idea in mind, but won't explore the idea enough to a satisfying conclusion or explain it properly.
>>83750370
It means Galactus isn't stupid, and knows they aren't just there to kill a few Reeds, they're there to conquer all realities.
