The trailer got taken down so I didn't get to see, but from that character picture we got, it seems like they perfected hair to such a degree that it's past the uncanny valley and just looks straight up real on its own.
The problem being with that the rest of the models are stylised, so the whole ensemble lands smack dab at the bottom of the valley for me. Like if they just filmed 2 people in green suits in front of a green screen with only wigs on, and put all the Maya work on top of that.
Looks weird.
