>lesbian subplot out of nowhere
>only non-evil male character is now evil out of nowhere

How long before Diaz goes full Tatsuya?
>>
>>83701466
>before

And he's just making his self-insert evil to atone for his horrible sin of sexualising his fetish doll protagonist.
>>
Thank God it's not just me, I thought I'd just somehow missed something because this transition came out of God damn nowhere and makes no God damn sense at all

Diaz wtf
>>
>>83701466
I'm confused by the action in those final panels, how did that chick cross all that distance before he fired a single shot.
>>
>>83702152
Girl power.
>>
>>83701466

going full Tatsuya would mean he'd be sticking to a consistent schedule...

They're in lesbians now? Did I miss a page?

I know nothing about this comic but

ow the edge

if you just can't stick with naming a character ONE vaguely sinister biblical reference I don't even know what to tell you
>>
>>83702235
True. Say what you will about Tats, daily updates for sixteen years is nothing to sneeze at

>>83702293
One or two strips back, there was the lewdest hand-holding

>first post best post

He's also trying to climb the Patreon contribution ladder. I think he makes like $57k a year off of it. Even if he's supplementing that with freelance work, that's just not that much after taxes, healthcare, retirement savings, etc.
>>
>>83704132
Even if you half that it's still $26k a year. Which is more than enough for a single bachelor to live comfortably, especially given how little work he actually does.
>>
>>83704132
He's complained about it constantly on his blog, like how an entry-level programmer is making more than he is as a "mid-level webcomic artist". Fucker is still making thousands per month and has not delivered a single update that wasn't two weeks or so late.

>>83704572
Depends where you live. Even if it is he obviously believes he deserves more.
>>
>>83701466
I just don't care about any of this shit
Tell me if Diaz ever writes anything good ever again
>>
>>83704132
>>83705326
He could easily increase his earnings if he increased his updates.

Kinda funny, really.
>>
Last thing i enjoyed from him was his Middle earth illustrations. been a long time...
>>
>>83705326
Doesn't he update once a month at best? So he's getting $57k a year for doing one page a month right?
>>
>>83708014
Yeah, and it's supposed to be every two weeks
>>
>>83705326
Didn't this asshole say he needed an assistant to help him out because the comic is just SOOOO MUCH WORK and if he had one he'd be able to maintain a regular schedule?

Did he ever get that assistant? Not that I'd expect it to actually change his ridiculous pace, but I'm curious if he actually got an assistant and how he justifies the fact that he still can't get anything done in a timely manner.
>>
I'd like to remind everyone that Dark Science has been running since June of 2010. This storyline has been going on 6 years now.

64 pages in 6 years.
>>
>>83708317
So not even a page a month. And he is complaining about his pay? His output is terrible. An entry-level programmer has to put in 40+ hours a week, every week, actually producing results.

This guy, he puts in what, 8 hours a page? What's he doing with the rest of his time?
>>
>>83709107
Self-flagellating, I presume
>>
>>83701466
wait i thought DARK SCIENCE was this comic's magic but it's actually a conspiracy?
>>
>>83711165
Is that what he calls furiously battering his fish-stick to amputee porn with Ashley Burch's face pasted over the models and his pasted over an image of the Statue of David?
>>
>>83702785
I actually like the guys art.

>>

I actually quite like the panel layout for this page which is a pleasant surprise. Kim busting through the panel border to interrupt the evil white male is a nice flourish.
Dialogue and plot wise just awful

His panel layout is usually very interesting, or at least attempting to be interesting, he takes a lot of his cues from A Lesson is Learned but the Damage is Irreversible, which is about as good as it gets

That said he still has a long way to go
>>
didnt he also change her origin to korean out of nowhere? did it have any relevence to the main story? i keep hearing that its because he's been into k-pop lately
>>
>>83712979
Except, that's not Kim.

Honestly, I always liked Diaz, and I enjoyed how salty all you fucks got over him. And his early standalone things were pretty neat.

But yeah, he's kinda grown into the caricature /co had made of him
>>
>>83701466
>That "action sequence" at the bothom

Jeez, I'm not very good at drawing action scenes either, but this guy is a professional webcomic artist;
What the fuck is she actually doing in the two bothom-middle panels?

>18 panels
>Eye is immediately drawn to the bottom of the page
>"Reveal" panels are tiny, dark, and on opposite edges of the page and split by a line break.
>180 flip without good reason near the start
>Scene changes, but establishing shot is just before the climax and barely establishes shit, only causing more confusion about who what where and how.
>All tell, no show

...what the fuck is happening to his arm? How can it possibly bend that way?
>>
>>83716833
What was she before?
>>
I'm perhaps one of the few people that preferred his old artstyle.
>>
>>83722727
half-Japanese. IIRC he claims he always planned for this "reveal" but the fact that whenever he did his fantasy casting bullshit he specifically mentioned Kim's actress has to be half-Japanese too makes me think that's bullshit. y'know aside from the fact he's an idiot
>>
>>83722867
I preferred his everything back then. The stories were more fun, kookier, and actually intellectually stimulating since he went places with his transhumanist themes. I'm guessing the twins are gone for good, and in place of them we've got Lillith and Vonnie, hooray
>>
>>83702152
In fairness, look at cyborg Waifu in the last panel. She looks surprised and her arms are still out protectively. The distance was deliberately pointed out: However she got there it happened ridiculously fast nobody else had any time to respond.

He's still a hack storywise but in this case I see what he did thar.
>>
>>83722936
Same as he planned for this "this guy is a bad guy" reveal, no doubt. Even though we saw multiple pages suggesting otherwise when he was alone. But clearing him out gives time for Kim to start smooching ladies. Very progressive.
>>
>>83716288
I know he tries (or at least tried) for ALiL-style paneling, but he falls far short. Nobody Scores did it better than Diaz.
>>
You idiots still read this?
>>
>>83724668
Most webcomics got into progressive political posturing through yuri fetishism.
Diaz is getting into yuri fetishism through progressive political posturing.

>Check Nobody Scores
>hasn't updated in 4 1/2 years

>>
>>83722936
but what does it accomplish as a reveal? how does her character change as a result of this information?

Diaz is driving me crazy
>>
>>83727343
A Japanese robo-waifu doesn't win as many PC points because it can be construed as weeb fetishism. Korean is a little less mainstream (i.e. "marginalized") so you get a bonus for that.
>>
>>83727818
Korea being brutalized under Japanese rule within the last century also has something to do with it.
>>
>>83727871
Ah, so like gay men, Japanese are on the cusp of becoming more "oppressors" than "oppressed" in our race to the rock bottom of victim culture

id honestly really love to switch out the schedule of your average mangaka with aarons
>1 page/month vs 120pages/month
>diet of steaks vs ramen every night
>plenty of time to be on twitter vs no sleep

half because if anyone needs a break, its them, and half because id love to see what happens to diaz
>>
>>83729752
ahahahah. lmfao. You mean, 120 pages a month in a studio with six-ten other uncredited people, who all do stuff like background, inking and details and at this point all you do is writing and roughs? Don't fucking make me laugh.

Also many mangakas are on social media, are you dumb? Go back to /a/ you fucking weeaboo.

>You mean, 120 pages a month in a studio with six-ten other uncredited people, who all do stuff like background, inking and details and at this point all you do is writing and roughs? Don't fucking make me laugh.
Yeah no. Even Kishimoto only had 4 assistants, and Toriyama had 1. You've got groups like CLAMP and Peach-Pit who don't need assistants, but the point is that six-ten is an exaggeration. And mind, those are all pretty big names and the assistants have to get paid too. The lower you are on the totem pole, the fewer assistants you can manage, and in those cases they mostly come in during a pinch rather than being full time. Most artist do more than roughs and writing, which itself is still way more work than Diaz does in the time it takes him to post a single page. Toriyama employed an assistant to do backgrounds, but did them in rough and inked all the characters himself.

Even your laziest manga artist is a work-a-holic compared to Aaron Diaz.

its facts, and wanting to see a blue and white collar switch

Well, shit, /co/, you piss on someone's shoes long enough and you don't get to complain when they swap out to an uglier pair that don't reek of urine.

You didn't like the comic then, and he's changed it into something even worse in response. It's the future you chose.
>>
>>83731649
I don't remember much bitching about the comic until Dark Science started up.
>>
>>83731649
I never bitched about the comic back then. I started bitching when he started being a faggot on Twitter and writing those garbage blog posts about Batman and Zelda. Then Dark Science, and the bitching increased. He brought this on himself.
>>
>>83726471
Life is suffering. I haven't checked in a while to see if the artist moved on to anything in particular.
