And yes, as long as there was agreement on not diverting too much from Alex's intentions with it and Alex still wrote most of Weirdmageddon, he could have had another writer fill in for a season's worth of shows if Alex was so out of ideas. Both the show's format and multiple other aspects of it easily allowed for it.

Literally almost everything. Gravity Falls was near perfect except for a small detour in season 2B for a couple of episodes. It's arguably the best animated western series along with Spongebob Squarepants seasons 1-3 and Avatar: The Last Airbender
