As with any Looney Tune with a shit personality, the least she could have done to make up for it is be funny.

Space Jam Lola isn't funny. She pretty much fails as a Looney Tune.
>>
The parts without the Looney Tunes characters were legitimately pretty bad, and the villains were pretty bad too, at least I thought. Also the acting in general was pretty bad.

The scenes with the Looney Tunes characters were all great though, in fact the stilted acting sometimes helped to make them feel just that much more energetic.

Back when it was first released, we all complained that based Bugs would NEVER need a third party's help to defeat the villain of the week—especially not the ridiculous Nerdlucks, who somehow are enough to intimidate him even before turning into Monstars.

They have brute firepower, sure; but so did Yosemite Sam. In essence, Bugs transparently needs help because the plot needs a reason to drag Michael Jordan in.

It feels less obvious today because, after years of Warner clumsily minimizing the Looney Tunes' visibility, many have grown up knowing the characters primarily from Space Jam itself. Bugs' need for help feels in-character because we know no other Bugs.

True Bugs should only be humbled by a fellow trickster, like Cecil Turtle or the Gremlin; not by a physical menace played straight.

Jordan;s cuntiness never bothered me, mainly because it mostly came from a place of competitiveness. He never seemed to be a jerk to his fans, just his adversaries on the court and his teammates if they were fucking around. You never hear about him shitting on Rodman for example, because regardless of Rodman's antics when it was game time he was amazing.

I saw it. It was standard kids fair. The only thing is that not only did Michael not appear but their star power for the NBA was a tad lacking. The only big star in there was Iverson. Kid Iverson were popular but not THAT popular and Nash and Dirk were a good 2-3 years of from their popularity peaks. I'd be like if you made an NFL version today with QBs and instead of Brady, Wilson, Rodgers or Newton you got Rivers, Dalton, Luck and Winston.

Eh just another sports movie. They all had gimmicks that were done to attract the kids, especially in the 90s-00 so even though you want the stars that is enough for kids to get in the seats. I never saw it in theaters but remember it from block buster satisfying the kid in me. Never saw that sequel though because it was direct to dvd and the one time I saw it on tv caught like 2 min of it and changed the channel to something better.

Back when Michael Jordan was the hottest shit, the Internet wasn't that much of a thing yet, so if you lived in a country where he didn't have much of an effect (namely places where basketball isn't popular), you were much less likely to encounter him by osmosis.

It's only because of the Internet that now it's impossible to not be exposed to facts about any and every celebrity whether you're interested or not.
You don't get the same thing through TV and Newspaper culture, where people just flip to the next page or get up to grab a beer when something they're not interested comes up.
There is no investment there, but on the internet you're invested in whatever comes up.
Hell if I know why people work like that.

Nah, I meant that the conversation is about a dude not knowing who Michael Jordan was, before he watched the movie, so it would have been a bit impossible for him to learn about Michael Jordan through the majesty of the Space Jam website, since the website and the movie came out at (almost) the same time, so it wouldn't have really made a difference.

What pisses me off about Lola in Space Jam is that writers OBVIOUSLY prevented her from suffering Comedic Slapstick because they were White Knight Faggots.

Even Granny got a bit of comedic slapstick when the Monsters crashed into her outside the court and essentially broke all her bones. If a female character is pretty? Nothing hurts a man's cock and balls more than to see her "harmed." Pathetic.
