Something Large
Something Vast
Something full of Foreshadowing and OOMPH
This is Walt Simonson's and John Workman's and George Roussos
The Mighty Thor
Come Along
We begin with one of the best foreshadowing things in all of comics.
The first of many
DOOM!
neat
Who among you does not prefer the obvious superiority of flat colors.
>>83639745
That Balder page is gonna come back in a BIG WAY
>>83639711
OG Nick was a cool motherfucker.
>>83639745
I have no problem with flat colors, but I really do prefer the omni's recolor in this case.
Please forgive.
>>83639988
You are asking a hard thing anon

These are lovely scans, btw.
>>83639600
Is this the issue where Simonson's Thor starts? Also posting recolored shit.
>>83640360
It is and I am not.
Has Beta-Ray Bill shown up in Whor yet?
Love the machinery in this series, larger than life.
>>83639600
How much ya doin'?
'Cause I swear every time I see this storytime they stop as soon as the introductory Bill arc ends and blue ball me something fierce.
>DOOM payoff never
>>83640682
My plan was to at least pay off the foreshadowing today.
>>83640556
Last 616 he showed up in was Nova just before Secret Wars iirc.
You can hear it can't you?
>>83639745
Flat colors are only good when used imaginatively, and with variety.
>>83640959
The same can be said of all coloring.
>>83639600
my favorite run of all time, maybe tied with Starman. It was just so good from start to finish. And don't go forgetting the Balder miniseries too. It was the tits
Ahhh yes the perfect person to test your Mild Mannered disguise against.
>>83639697
"How does Nick Fury know my special secret?!"
C'mon now people.
>>83639759
I know that ship! Yay!
Nice choice mate. This was one of the first omnibuses I ever bought
>>83639983
This is great foreshadowing.
>>83641748
I wouldn't personally have bought it but to each their own.
>>83641245
haha what?
>>83641848
SImonson is actually on a short list of people who should have had a Superman run but didn't
At least to me.
>>83641792
I need to just track down the single issues, though I'll never get the first issue of the run
>>83641916
They also put the whole thing in trades.
>>83640146
Ohhh, that explains why Bill is so different looking, he is a totally different animal than the Korbanites.
>>83639697
Hey I like the design on that Helicarrier. It really stands out.
>>83641878
I wonder what he was doing in comics while his wife was writing the character. They made a great creative team on X-Factor
>>83641972
If I'm going to own physical copies they're not going to be the recolor. Aren't the trades the same thing as the omnibus?
>>83640203
FFSHHAMMM!
>>83642049
I am pretty sure the Re-Color was done for the Omnibus because the trades are rather old, I am not 100% on that though
>>83640265
I enjoy when Volstagg is shown as a great character rather than just comic relief or "lol fat people".
Time for one of the best single issues in Marvel comics.
>>83640338
Oh man, that stylized art on the bottom...
>>83640413
In myth Odin often took the form of a hooded wanderer to go throughout the lands checking on things. One of the reasons to be polite to strangers!
This issue is SO GOOD
BEST LOKI
>>83640523
How could they think anyone would possible like a female hero without tits hanging out, by characterization?! Her whole body is covered?! Terrible!
BRB was an interesting character. A new creator's oc that was equal/better than the established protagonist, everyone in the story liked him and he got his own mjolnir and Thor's love interest (for a while at least). I wonder how readers would react to him if he would have debuted now.
>>83640646
"...now and forever YOURS alone!"
Fuck you Marvel!
>>83641981
It's ugly as fuck
>>83640884
I even have a really good guess at who and what this is, but it is still a terrific lead up.
>>83641011
Remember when Odin was awesome?
Marvel doesn't.
>>83641026
So Bill is like Captain America, Thor and... all I can think of really is Robot Man from Doom Patrol, all combined?
Simonson's run was wonderful.
he did equally well with the FF.
>>83642928
Basically
>>83642958
This is very true but I have done both his FF and Orion already.
Ragnarok is great and I have been meaning to catch up.
