which kind of powers we would get, if we would have a not killing policy or not...

BUT I ASK YOU: Which kind of villain would you be?

Would you act for money? Crawl for power? Driven by your hate for the world? Would you use cosmic powers or just your wits? Would you destroy the world or conquer it?
>>
I'd mainly use money and wit. My plan would be to purchase a major comic book distributor and fill the comics with my proggressivist agenda.
>>
Money to live comfortably and maybe ADVENTURE!
Would be fun for sure
>>
I would like to get time control powers, with them i would steal everything i want. Maybe go to Syria and pull some safety pins from grenades for some keks.

I'd be the kind of villain nobody hears about, ever. I'd keep my crime hidden, seemingly small and unimportant. I'd live in moderate luxury and just enjoy life.
What would I do with world domination? Boring, too much work.

I'd be a dick for the sake of being a dick. No tragic backstory or ulterior motive. I'd be the fun kind of villain who'd make peoples lives hell
>>
I'd be the kind of villain who's so bad at what he's doing he becomes the universe's greatest hero.

Straight to Doom. Find a small, vulnerable nation take over. Expand my power and resources by abusing my authority but not in a Mugabe way. Like actualy productive shit instead of just tanking the economy to create corruption and dependency.

I'd probably seek to grab a few more small places before I go for the global conquest thing. I've been around and I can tell you there is no shortage of the weak and willing.
As an aside while I respect Doom respecting his roots I definitely think I'd go for a uniform look to my rule. Everyone's getting evil costumes, everyone. Kids, adults, grandma and grandpa. The houses and schools are all getting redesigned. Utensils. Everything.

I'm not talking that little league fashionable Nazi stuff either, I'm talking full on skulls, spikes, chains. REAL skulls too.

I don't know about powers but my motivation would probably be me thinking I was doing the right thing in the end for the world. I get really frustrated at all the class bullshit that goes on in our society, so I'd be assassinating the wealthy one by one, starting from richest man on earth down or ruining their lives by exposing corruption.
And no I don't believe in the Illuminatti before you ask or only. They died out in 1700's Belgium.

I always thought I'd do what you want to do, but to be honest with myself, I don't think I want to be burdened with ruling the world; I simply seek the thrill of conquering it. Fun is pretty much my only real motivator for evil, as much as my idols in villainy are the severe, no-nonsense types like Doom, Slade, and what have you.

See I'd probably try that but after like the fifth time of having to break out of jail I'd basically go full Zoom and just dedicate my life to fucking over my rival

It really depends on if I had powers or not. If not I'd probably just do organized crimes but with some odd gimmick and a costume. If I had powers I'd he the pettiest motherfucker on earth. I'd find one guy and fuck with him by doing stupid shit like taking parts out of his car so it won't run, turn off his fridge so everything spoils, or leave flaming bags of dog shit. I would let him know it was me doing it so when he tells people no one will believe him.
>>
>>83635374
This impulse is an important part of villainy.

What if your rival was really hot, though? How would that affect things?

Are there any good hero/villain romantic/sexual relationships out there? I don't just mean something like Batman and Catwoman, I'm more looking for someone who fits the arch-villain mold having a thing for their nemesis, which may or may not be reciprocated.

If i dedicate myself to destroying the cancerous little shits who are slowly un-weaving the fabric of society does that count as villainous? You know, start by killing Hillary Bernie and Trump, hunting down and brutally murdering SJW's and hardcore racist /pol/ sons a bitches. Probably hit the cultists and the fedora tippers next. Basically just carve out everything i think is detrimental to society. Sufficiently villainous? I mean i don't want to just go stealing shit, and i have no interest in murdering random people or trying to take over the world, but there are a lot of people i think the world would be better off without, and purging the world of degenerates is probably more of a villain thing than a hero one.

I would be a really bad villain. Like, sure I'd rob the world for all its gold, or topple the UK,maybe conquer a slice of the world for myself, but I would feel terrible thinking about the effects of my actions. Sure thing. I don't have as many as I once did -- my external drive crashed and I lost most of my work. I've been recreating things, but it's slow going and I focus more on my heroes.

The main hero of my setting is called Apex. He debuted in 1939 and disappeared, along with his arch-nemesis, in 1969. The resulting power vacuum shook things up quite a bit and it changed again when they both returned.

This is that nemesis, Doctor Zero, as he appeared in 1939. Very probably the most intelligent man of his or any other era, Zero is indirectly responsible for Apex receiving his powers and loathes him for usurping his destiny.

There is a certain beauty in clear cut lines between Good and Evil. I do love watching good triumph, and based on you liking your evil to be evil i'm guessing you like your good to be good, which i do as well. I enjoy reading stuff like that cause its heartwarming and makes me feel good, but when i think of my very favorites, they tend to be the more nuanced characters. Even though i'll read those and come out feeling like shit sometimes, for some reason i love it when the villain has really complex motives and is almost relatable. Maybe i just have problems.

Red Menace doesn't really have 'mind control.' He's not even telepathic. He's just very persuasive, supernaturally so, and his powers are enhanced by his crown. My 1939 stories are very, very Golden Age. After Red Menace converts Apex's home city to Communism, Apex deduces that it HAS to be mind control because the people of Utopolis are REAL Americans and no REAL American would ever be suckered in by the lies of Communism.

Well, that's certainly part of the point, for me -- and hopefully part of the appeal for the readers. Immediate familiarity would be a plus, right? I'm working with archetypes, here -- the Mad Genius, the Nazi Mystic, the Nuclear Man, etc.

We've reached the end of the villains that I've done up for Apex, unless we want to move into spoiler territory. I have some nonaligned villains done, but only very few. One of them, the Fly, you've already seen.

This is Indrid Cold. He leads a gang of villains themed after popular cryptids and urban legends -- none of which I've had a chance to illustrate yet, unfortunately. His gang includes characters like the Mad Gasser of Mattoon, the Lizard Man of Scape Ore Swamp, the Hook, the Goatman, and of course the Jersey Devil.

I'm thinking of making them the de-facto enemies of another of my heroes, the Silver Skull, but I haven't decided yet.

Coolest concept yet, and also something I've never seen done in this context before. Very fresh. I do love your archetypes, though, and am the kind of reader you're angling for with them.

Indrid is definitely one of my favorites. He's been around for a long, long time, and nobody's sure what he really is. He only LOOKS like a person.

This is the last of my unaffiliated villains. Presto the Preposterous was a stage magician that started to incorporate real magic into his act, but an accident on stage ended his career and he turned to a life of crime, committing a series of flamboyant robberies and escaping before he could be apprehended. He carries a wand carved from a branch of Merlin's Tomb, without which his magic is unpredictable. In the story that I'm writing for him he HAS been captured and imprisoned, but no cage can hold him for long -- he's a master escape artist, after all.

And... that's it for the villains. I've got more in my head, of course, but none are currently illustrated.

Honestly, I'd end up being a bodyguard or mook for some bigger villain. End up in lots of supervillain teams and hope for success in numbers. Maybe I'd be ambitious enough to do a little bit of work on the side, but more likely I'd just be cowardly enough to make it out early.

I'd like to be something of a small scale 'Bond villain' with a lot of pomp and camp, maybe a vaguely defined gimmick or something. I don't really have any major ambitions, even if the opportunities were available. No, what I'd want is just to dishonestly gain enough money to keep my ship sailing through a few clever schemes, plus a considerable amount of excess to put into hobbies, and to treat the hired henchmen, since they'll be getting their untrained+improperly armed asses kicked by my nemesis.

Also, having a nemesis would DEFINITELY be a priority. It would be cathartic as fuck to have one guy/or girl to project the distillation of all my grievances onto, whether it would be just to blow them the fuck out with petty nonsense, or to let become my 'White Whale' so I'd always have one seemingly manageable but elusive goal to keep me occupied.
>>
>>83643392
I feel like you really understand me. You put the thoughts I have into words better than I could have.

I also happen to love the Blot, and can't seem to find any traces of his stories online. Such a pity.

The power to have any power he wants.

If I have to pick one, wolverine healing would be nice, would try more risky things that I don't have the balls to do, like sky diving or rock climbing.

When I was a kid, I wanted the power to take powers from others, both so I could add them to my ever-expanding list of abilities, and to take them away from their original users. Think Sylar.

(Also, I'm unoriginal as fuck, so just taking everyone else's powers is easier.)

I'm so conscious of godmoding nowadays that I'd probably take something else, even in a purely hypothetical situation.

The anon above has it right -- Madcap's powers are awesome. Indestructibility and the power to fuck around with people's minds, driving them crazy or making them more amenable to your desires.

I can't decide if Chaingang is one villain who can duplicate (links in a chain), or a group of former inmates who were granted super-strength and durability, but lose it if they're too far away from each-other (broken chain).

I'm lonely as hell. And I'm pretty sure in a world with superpowers, that would be where I'd act from.

I would do all the wrong things for all the right reasons.
I would most likely start off with a complicated power that over time becomes a major threat. I would end up as the type of villain that under the right circumstances would make an amazing hero.
And I know that from time to time I would try but I doubt I would be able to live with allowing certain people get off without either killing them or hurting them in such a way they could never harm another soul again.
>>
I don't want a superpower, I just want the genius sort of intellect that would let me build all sorts of machines and gadgets that seem magical in what they can accomplish. Without even having the most basic knowledge of engineering. It's hard to even roleplay being this when you don't know a thing about it.

>inb4 not a villain

I think in real life, I'd be Doom. I'm essentially a prince where I am, so part of the local nobility. I consider myself extremely intelligent, and pretty good at pretty much a lot of things. Except there are always other specialized people better than me individually. I like to just fuck around in my little domain, don't care what happens outside.

I don't have a Richards though.

I guess I'm really more of a

Depending on your definition of Ozymandias. I am cynical that people can choose the path to "good" without being forced or led to it in some way. I feel like I should use my talents for some overall good or I'm a failure. So yeah, pretty much Ozymandias.

Otherwise, Magneto. Similar reasons really. I don't think I could be a money and selfish gains sort of person, villain or not. And as cool as Doom is, I lack his ego or ability to hold a grudge to that degree.

Not that guy, but I am close to that, my maternal family/clan in india literally own a large village that has the city growing into it, the spot is prime real-estate that is right next to a state highway junction at one side a river behind and a vital bridge close by, according to all the stuff told to me by my elders, we are a bunch of villains quite literally, from burning a nearby village, slaying opposing families and being traitors to a temple we swore to protect which we burnt down and then apparently redeemed ourselves when Mysore invaded and we set to harassing and raiding the invading muslims under tipu, then immedately sold out our countrymen to the English to maintain our lands and titles after the Fourth Anglo Mysore War

My grandad who passed used to tell me how the family was part of a proto-hindu nationlist movement called the Sangha and that through some connections were involved in the partition and subsequent assasination of Gandhi, though the facts of this is often in question, it is known that my family HATES gandhi, he is seen as the reason why Islamists broke india.

Anyway the latest mess that happend was a great uncle of mine was denied the girl he loved who was from a rival clan and the girl's brother burnt her alive. This followed with my great uncle being arrested and thrown in jail accused of being a murderer, when he was released he found out that the brother of his ex gf was getting married, gathered up some men and massacred 20 people on the altar including the brother his parents and the bride and her family back in 1967
>>
>>83653476
The story of your clan is fascinating and would make an excellent series itself.
>>
>>83653576
Well I could possibly make it into some sort of series, one of my uncles is in the southern film industry and plays the lead role in hundreds of films.
>>
>>83653920
Not hundreds but dozens, but I wouldnt want to either because of the family backlash, plus we are fairly tame now, since the death of the old guard and the dispersal of families the need for this kind of nonsense is no longer required

I think I'd wind up being the kind of villain whose major shtick is mutating people into monsters, having long ago relinquished all holds on my own humanity in every sense of the word. Not even out of a belief that I'm creating some Ubermensch or the next stage in human evolution or anything like that, it'd just be like that one panel where Spider-Man confronts Sauron about curing cancer and Sauron says he doesn't care about that, he just wants to turn people into dinosaurs.

Does your roll[s] change your answer to OP?

I'd probably go on some ideological crusade to fix the world. because I feel I can control/govern/make the world better through my approach and people would naturally resist me and after trying to be reasonable I eventually realise the only way was to force them into submission.

I would eventually out smart, out craft and over power everyone and then put in place a benevolent dictatorship with me as the leader and improve the world.
