You'd ever consider the fact that the 2003 series is bland as fuck? I mean the 2012 series eclipsed it in popularity basically right off the bat so it's not like you can attribute it to nostalgia. In fact given that the series is almost 15 years old I think it's only be praised now by kids who were born in 1997 getting nostalgic over it.
