Is the God of Preacher that evil? In actions he is, I suppose, but his ultimate motivation seems to stem from the intense loneliness of being the only one of his kind in existence and having been completely alone for a literal eternity.
Its also sort of tricky to morally judge any depiction of the Judeo-Christian God given morals are supposed to be something that he invented. From his perspective the ethics that we take as a given would be completely arbitrary.
