Will there ever be a show as great as ATLA?
Sure it has it's issuesseries finale, but I honestly can't find anything better. Everything it tried mixing together worked so perfectly.

shows that I liked just as much as ATLA or better (sticking only to animated series)
>a lot of the DCAU (btas, stas, jl/jlu)
>tron: uprising
>spectacular spider-man
>avengers: emh
>fullmetal alchemist: brotherhood (from the /a/ end of things, obviously)
>cowboy bebop (also /a/)
>clone wars from the end of season 3-season 5, especially anything with the clones instead of the jedi (I know, cherry-picking is cheating)
>gravity falls
>samurai jack
>gargoyles
I liked ATLA a lot, and I liked these just as much. Tastes are different from bloke to bloke but if there is nything on this list you haven't seen yet, check it out. You may find something you like.

I feel like Tron: Uprising in particular and maybe SymBionic Titan might have been as good as ATLA, if they'd ever been allowed to hit their stride but both were canceled after one season and never given a real shot.
Shows as good as Avatar?
Adventure Time comes close at times, but some episodes are pretty meh. That's simply because there are so many though.
Over the Garden Wall is great.
But as far as Western animation goes, I wish there were better. An anime like Last Exile, for example, is pretty good and close to Avatar. There are certainly many examples of good anime...

Does Gargoyles get better after Goliath is done fucking about in that boat? I was enjoying the series until Avalon was introduced, and it went to a very slow hault. I'm right before the Gathering episodes.
