>Characters read the subtitles
Kek, what show did this?
>>83541851
Chowder at some point I'm sure.
I still remember the gag where Gazpacho tries to scrub the CN logo off of the lower side of the screen.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQFfMyxa04A
reminds me of this
>>83541851
I know Grim Adventures did
>>83541851
Animaniacs did it
>>83541898
That bit makes way less sense when it's on Netflix because that logo only shows up for those few seconds
>>83544769
I remember when it was on TV you could see the two slightly out of alignment with each other because they didn't get them to overlap properly.

There was a Looney Tunes short with two guys on a deserted island, one of them talked to bugs and he got translated into a tribal language and his buddy read the subtitles and was like, "You said that?"
>Guy gets blown away
>Wilhelm Scream
Gets me every time.
>characters literally write/narrate their own episode and get interrupted constantly by side character monologues while trying to tell a story
Common trope, but it never gets old
>>83540095
>character slips on banana peel
>big character gets rekt by a tiny character
>character is suddenly pecked/swarmed by birds and stumbles off a cliff or offscreen

>"We're not so different you and I"
>>83547684
Is this an "anime only" trope?
>>83541851
Too lazy to actually grab a decent screencap.
>>83547996
it was in ATLA so no.
Well, kinda.
>>83546919
>Something small happens, like a car rolling to a soft stop and tapping a tree
> explodes
> Wilhelm scream where it's not called for
>>83540095
>I remember it like it was yesterday
>It happened today
It may be a product of the internet era but I love it when shows go out of the way to have their characters make ridiculously wacky faces
>>83547996
It's in any show. It happens in live action too
>Looking at you, Flash
>>83548797
Classic
>>83540095
When they show the villain/antagonist doing average, everyday activities
>>83549352
> When the villain has a love interest that they actually treat well and actually really love
The more serious/evil the villain, the better
>Hero and Villain actually kind of like and respect each other but unfortunately they're on different sides of the law
>>83540095
Not sure if that's already a trope, but
Bad guy 1: So, I've got the letter and now I'm here. What do you want of me?
Bad guy 2: Me of you?? I thought you wanted something of me!
Bad guy 1: But if the letter is neither from you nor from me, who di-

>Bullies treat bullying like it's a job
For example, in American Dad when Steve agrees to wedgie himself for Vince Chung.
>>83541851
I thought of Austin Powers first and foremost.
>pure energy
>>83547409
>milhouse is selling seeds and coming this way...
>Oh, the birds got him
>character runs off a cliff
>for a few seconds, they're running on midair with no problem until they look down and realize what's about to happen just before they actually fall
>villain is protective of his henchmen
>hero struggles constantly and earns his victories instead of just being good at everything automatically or just struggling once
>badass parent character
>badass grandpa/grandma character
>villain is a hero that wants to redeem himself but he's doing it in all the wrong ways
>>83552035
> bad redemption villain
The episode with Lisa trying to make Mr. Burns better was one of my favorites
> It's all for you, lil' Lisa!
>>83552015
Not a trope but the little gag from this short where Bugs orders a pie, picks it up, comes right back round and pelts Elmer with it always gets me.
It's the swiftness it happens.
Then again I guess any sort of setup like that I love, where you can see what's coming but since it's done in such a business fashion it can't be avoided.Your pie, sir!

I have how the Loud House is practically based on this.
>Narrator: this was the worst thing ever.
>Character: this was the worst thing ever!
>>83549246
Jesus Christ why does that remind me of Amigara Fault
