So, I think this is done. Am I missing any major features? Some of the things here might not print due to the small size of them (like the smaller buttons near the tailstock or the buttons above the spindle(?) lever) due to the scale, as well.
Until I can get a dualor quad if I get enough ordersextruder I'll be printing out the cranks separately and probably just painting the black parts. No idea how I'm doing the Spirograph, though; way too intricate for printing at a small scale, sorry.

I agree, but I'm working with what I have here. I get the whole MSPA aesthetic is supposed to be, well, sort-of-shittily comics drawn in MSP (or whatever he ended up using), but in turn that makes it REALLY hard to use as a reference. See pic related: at the bottom it mostly works, but as I get closer to the top the lines aren't even parallel like they should be if they're isometric, which really throws a wrench in the works.
The large bottom crank I might attach with a piece of wire, or a slot on the bottom of the table, IDK. The tailstock (thing on the right) was originally taller, but to make that and the chuck (thing above the cube) line up and not look weird, I had to lower it.
The line you're showing that should be slanted is likely a mistake in tracing/whatever; on a real lathe, that inset is how the tailstock moves back and forth horizontally - if it were to be slanted, it wouldn't have support and/or would move downwards as well as sideways.

What you all don't understand is that almost none of the characters are "good"? What is a "good character" you ask? It's fucking disgusting that I even have to answer this. Merriam Webster Dictionary defines character as "an interesting or amusing individual".
Note that this is referring to persons of fiction.
Think of your favorite character. Are they interesting? Sollux? Feferi? Vriska? Dave? No. They are not interesting or amusing at all. They are train wrecks of characters. If you have read the full comic any trace of amusement and interest is completely gone by the second half.
Thus any character that was introduced prior to act 6, is "fucking garbage". Who do we have left with? The alpha kids? Yawn. The Beforus trolls? What trolls? All we are left with are the two cherubs. Calliope and Caliborn. They are both fascinating alien races that actually have alien traits (unlike the trolls whom are just gray humans). So they are both interesting! But! Calliope is not amusing. She is boring. Snore. A mary sue character whom everybody loves for no reason other than she's nice. Caliborn on the other hand is aggressive and humorous. He's rambunctious, honest and handsome (reminds me of myself actually). He has real struggles, such as his learning disorder and blatant misogyny. However he overcomes both of these with overwhelming success and becomes the most powerful being in the world.

So first of all you create a bunch of base weapon types. I'm going to assume roughly Minecraft gameplay here, something simple. So for each weapon type (KIND) you decide on a base reach, swing speed, and damage.
Then you create a bunch of objects. These are basically misc items that don't serve much gameplay purpose, mostly stuff found in your house (like lamps, posters, stuffed animals, whatever) or things found out in the session (gems, idols, statues, ores, plants). Real world objects you use to customize your house, both for style purposes and strategically to bring in certain alchemy ingredients. Session objects are decorations and flavor placed around the planets by whatever procedural system generates them in the first place.
The basics of alchemy would then be combining objects together to make new objects, or combining objects with weapons to create new weapons. Clothing is a difficult case because it was mostly a style thing in Homestuck, and becomes irrelevant after you hit God Tier anyways. Utility items like rocket boots or upgraded computers would be special cases, I'll discuss them last.

So, each object would have traits (or Aspects if you want to be confusing). Each trait would have a numerical assigned to it. A common household iron might have something like HEAT(1) METAL(1) HEAVY(1), some kind of magma rock you find on a planet could be HEAT(3) HEAVY(3), and a mystic idol stolen out of a temple could be MAGIC(4) VOID(1).
Then, for each trait, you give it a list of effects based on the number. Something like: HEAT(1-2) Flavor text about the weapon giving off heat, no mechanical effect HEAT(3-4) +1 damage against fire weak enemies HEAT(5-6) +1 fire damage to all enemies HEAT(7-8) Requires fire resistance to use
Of course the exact numbers would be tweaked for balance, this is just an example.
So, say you had a Baseball Bat. You combine it with an Iron, and it becomes an Iron Baseball Bat and gains HEAT(1) METAL(1) HEAVY(1). These probably just add flavor to the weapon. Then you combine your Iron Baseball Bat with the Magma Rock, and you get the Iron Magma Baseball Bat, with HEAT(4) METAL(1) HEAVY(4). The METAL trait is still probably just flavor, but now you're getting strong effects from HEAT (fire damage) and HEAVY (maybe high damage but slower swing speed). Combine that with the Mystic Idol and you get the Mystic Magma Iron Baseball Bat, which would have HEAT(4) METAL(1) HEAVY(4) MAGIC(4) VOID(1). Now you've got a pretty crazy weapon, with a variety of mid tier effects. It would probably be a good idea to allow players to rename their weapons though, because they'd start getting silly.
Grist costs would be decided based on the total traits and the highest level trait, possibly with each trait having its own associated cost. This would force some balance onto the system, even if you stacked your house with objects that you knew shared good traits. Also, after a certain amount of combinations, it would have to start giving you some kind of dud item; I always felt like three would be a good amount.

I never really let this become a factor in my opinion because we're simply not at a level of understanding of the nature/nurture aspect to be sure either way. But you might actually be right - as far as the characters go, I mean. I never really noticed that all the dark-haired kids were mostly straight. These traits wouldn't be displayed to the player, although some Classpect powers might give you some insight into them. The end result would be a system where you can combine any random object you find with any of your weapons and get a new weapon with new powers. The powers would always be based somewhat on the objects that made up the weapon. You could even throw is some special combinations that result in special weapons (hammer+iron always creates the Wrinklefucker, which has higher levels of HEAT and HEAVY than it would normally), this would be a way to powerful legendary weapons with special recipes that could be found by doing quests. You miss out on the visual shenanigans, which is the one thing a game probably wouldn't be able to do, but you still get a system that basically tailors your equipment to your house (and thus your personality) and your planet. When you take into account the ability to send codes to your session mates things get even more interesting.
Now, if it was decided that clothing/armor should be a mechanical feature that would be a simple matter of giving each trait armor specific effects (fire resistance instead of bonus fire damage). Or, you create a few base outfits, assign each object a color, and let clothing alchemy basically be a complicated palette editor. That would be the style way of doing things, and is what I think would be best.
