Bio enginered by Veidt since the Crimebusters fiasco. Bubastis was an early tell to show that Veidt had the capability of gene splicing.
>>
>>83491940
No, it really isn't. It's a solid story, nothing more

It's as important to super hero comics as Action Comics #1 or Fantastic Four #1. It's the first deconstruction of the genre and it's debut marked the beginning of the "Dark" age of comics.
>>
>>83492289
I will, but not yet
>>
I read it once back in high school. I thought it was good but it wasn't really my thing and I probably won't read it again.
>>

>>83492371
Don't bother, it's overrated as fuck. dark for the sake of dark
>>
It stinks!
>>
Not nearly as good as Gwenpool
>>
>>83491942
Where did he keep such a monstrosity? What did he feed it?

The giant squid monster is a source of eternal mystery to me

When they killed a autospy on the monster do you think Ozymandias worried that the gene splicing might link him to the monster

If he was found out would he be accused of war crimes?
>>
>>83492915
>dark for the sake of dark
Johns pls go and stay go

He kept it on a remote island with a bunch of scientists and artists he hired to build the thing. He probably didn't need to feed it shit because it died immediately after he transported it to New York.

The book implies that Adrian's peace won't last, but it never implies he'll be linked to it (Rorsharch's journal only implicates Veidt in the 'mask killer' conspiracy, he had no concept of the squid until he saw it). The implication is that the squid is too fucking realistic/extraterrestrial for anyone to think it was fabricated by someone on Earth because Adrian only hired geniuses to work on it before murdering them.

>It's as important to super hero comics as Action Comics #1 or Fantastic Four #1
Sure
>It's the first deconstruction of the genre
Not sure about that, Moore was doing that with Marvelman in '82 and how about this?

>I went into my publisher's office," Lee recalls. "I said I want to do a hero called Spider-Man; I want him to be a teenager and I want him to have a lot of personal problems, I think that will make it interesting. Well, this is the reception I got: 'You can't call a hero Spider-Man because people hate spiders; he can't be a teenager because only a sidekick can be a teenager; and he can't have personal problems. Stan, don't you know what a superhero is? They don't have personal problems.'

So THAT's when Stan Lee killed comic books
>>
>>83492557
Please give it once more go at least. It was my second read that blew me away because I'd gotten much more familiar with capeshit in the interim. Now I appreciate it more with each read.

Luckily Ditko and Kirby were there saving them with every issue

>Moore wanted to kill one of the characters DC had just acquired
>"lol, no fucking way faget, make your own character"
>Moore makes the "deconstruction" of the superhero comic, thinks he wrote the capeshit to end all capeshit
>Starts saying superhero comics are fucking silly and are only meant for little boys
