They tried to take a twist that Shredder was a legend of old and Sachs was going to be Evil Iron man Shredder edition. In the original script he gets blown up but his head/brain survived and he was going to be reborn as Krang in the sequel with a the plot being he was using ooze to create rock like mutants to take over the world. The whole idea was scrap because due to the out cry over shredder they didn't have the balls to keep any of the old script and just turn OotS into something closer to the cartoon episode of the 90s.

Most of the core fans of anime are try hard snobs that want the "original experience" so they won't even give duns a fair shake leading to most companies to not even try with western VAs. You get blue moon moments like Geneon Entertainment giving a sizable amount of money to the US team to dub Hellsing which lead to even the Japs loving the English dub but more then ever anime VA work is either a foot in the door to climb the latter or where the underpaid stay because they don't have a voice that stands out enough(or is just bad) and as such keep the quality low on dub.

Shredder and Krang were perfect, though underused.
Bebop and Rocksteady were perfect.
And the story was good, it wasn't muddled and suffering from rewrites like the first movie.
The only thing Out of the Shadows needed was better development of Shredder and Krang's alliance, and I was gonna say "more Splinter", but Splinter was actually in the movie the exact amount he needed to be.
I hope if a third one gets made they either write out or recast Casey Jones, Amell is the worst in the world.

I was kind of put off by the fact that it seemed like a revamped version of the 2014 movie. I know there's only so many ways you can set up a fight along buildings,so the way they got into range of the Technodrome didn't bug me too much, butsetting up a second chase scene over a waterfall (which is pretty similar to the chase scene in the avalanche in the 1st movie) was a little weak.The CG had a better sense of space, though - really seemed like stuff was moving through the air when objects fell or went flying (which is important, considering how much stuff goes flying or floating around in this movie for the sake of 3D).
