All in all I think OP's prediction is pretty likely considering people seem to think the Zootopia studio will become the new Pixar and that they go with this kind of plot almost every time. Not a long shot they'll try to use that storytelling amidst their success.
If the book is any indicationshe finds her parents near the end of the movie and nothing really comes of it other than "she finds her family" because it happens right before the climax of the movie
