I've realized this is true. I grew up with post-crisis Supes, but this Superman just felt so much more dynamic. I didn't like that both of the Kents died when he was young, but other than that, I liked pretty much every bit of his origins.

I kinda liked it. I like how Superman was still a bit of a young, cocky asshole who knew he was the biggest gun there and liked it. It was refreshing. Wonder Woman was a bit of cringe, but Hal was spot on. Flash was good, Cyborg was good, Bats was good, Aquaman was fucking great. I loved how he showed up and just assumed he was leader because he was a king.
Also, that picture shows that the costume looked best when Lee drew it. Most other artists emphasized the panels too much

Johns reverted back into this brute that can be punched into submission. There's nothing I hate more than that. Even the Darkseid War, which was a pretty great concept had him and the Anti-Monitor, once the be all end all ultimate villain in the DCU going into a slapping contest with Darkseid.

I liked the Earth 2 masked superman. (was that earth 2?) that turned out to be Capt. marvel. But you know what made it interesting? the mystery. you knew it wasnt Clark, but you werent fully sure of who it could be, even if there were only a few possibilities.
IMO robobats could have been better executed if there was some more mystery.

There was just nothing there. There's no actual team bonding, nothing convincing me they're the greatest superheroes on the planet that are banding together, no actual arc beyond 'Darkseid comes and then goes."
Like in the JLU cartoon you could at least feel the weight of the threat and the ultimate conclusion that they need to form a team because they as the greatest heroes in the world can't do it alone felt real and earned.
This is just a series of empty character moments that don't really mean anything in between pointless action sequences leading up to "Well this was cool, maybe we should hang out more."
This being a comic whose job was to sell people not only the new Justice League, but the entire idea of New52 as something good that we should get excited about.
