I went to NG for the first time in years today, and I'm surprised it even exists anymore. It's been slowly dying for years. It's kind of sad, I guess.
What are your fond childhood/teen memories of Newgrounds?besides the cartoon porn
All dose flash games.
So many genuinely great ones that were made out of community and passion, and now they live on only as shitty five dollar steam games

Monetization killed creativity.
The idea of people just making things for fun is already an ancient memory at this point.
Eskimo Bob... Tomorrow's Nobodies.. Arfenhouse... So many more original series. Flash games based on school shootings was another one. Then there was the clock crew.

>clock crew
jesus christ, a wave of nostalgia just passed over me. While there definitely more than a fair share of shitty CC animations, the one's that were good, were fucking good

>Arfenhouse
God, I can hear housemaster's distorted stuttering laughter in my head right now...

Pico's school D:

It even had an RPG series.

Ganguro Gi....

Oh.
Probably Samurai Asshole.
I spent hours as a kid every day watching stick figure fighting animations.
HOURS.
Legendary Frog is a hack
Wonchop never improved
Lock Legion is basically a Steam group
Rubberninja is a sellout
Mario vs Sonic

I was eighTEEN when this was made. Valid enough?

I occasionally go on the site maybe once a month or so, just to see if it's kicked the bucket yet.
And almost always there's almost never anything new on the front page as all the talent left for youtube and steam/mobile years ago.
It's so damn depressing really.
>>83413700
This so fucking much.
Just like with the modding community.
People made mods because they poured their heart and soul into it and went into it expecting nothing in return, a gift to humanity.
Then Valve comes along and tries to ruin that time-honored tradition in another attempt to out-jew EA.
It'll never be the same again and it sucks.
i say give some of the new animators a chance they be big on youtube
It was interesting to hear tom fulp's retrospective on the site on sleepycast
How long intill there bankrupt?
I give 2-3 years tops
>>83414839
Never understood why Tomflup never just embrace YouTube and make an official YouTube page for newgrounds where they upload popular animations. That way they could attract new animators and talent to the site. Hyuns dojo does this and it's basically got competitions where people can win tablets.

The Behemoth games still do okay, right? Though having said that I haven't heard anything about them for years

There is no passion for creativity anymore in this world.

i think he wants to compete against youtube in animation department cause when you look at youtube there barley any cartoons expect a few but cartoon critics are growing making videos on old cartoons and new one but never online cartoons
