They could give us "variations", like the ones in Mortal Kombat X. Each character has 3 combat variations that change their special moves. Injustice could associate the moveset variations with other characters or Alternate world versions.

Netherrealm fighting games are the best ones to buy if you're not interested in getting gud. That's not a slight at Netherrealm's mechanics, rather it's because they're the only company that bothers putting in a significant amount of singleplayer content.
