I used to comment on there and I did go to the comments for the last couple Carla strips, but I honestly couldn't bother posting after seeing some of the sentiments.
I've been watching some episodes of All in the Family, and that does a better job of examining/critiquing bigotry and progressiveness, while not conflating those ideas with morality itself. There's a lot of dignity that I find missing a lot of the time in these strips. "Good thing better than bad thing" isn't really a revelation, but I just thought it interesting that a piece of media from a time with less awareness could do so much more of a nuanced job than one now.
