Ulti-mate mentioned in one of his numerous storytimes that he was waiting for someone to storytime Irredeemable and Incorruptible. Since he's going to be wading through some of the worst garbage the Ultimate line had to offer tomorrow, and I downloaded both series on a whim... enjoy!

>wading through
>>83365945
What? He's gonna be doing Ultimatum, that alone deserves consolation.
One issue in, I'm already seeing the value of a 4chan pass. I miss letter/number captchas.
That third panel...
>>83366074
SO FUCKING EDGY. How can anyone like this shit?
>>83366467
As "Superman goes insane" stories go, it's not bad. Yes, some things are overly edgy, but really, if Superman snaps, he is going to grill a LOT of people.

Bump
>>83366803
I forget, we need to have text posts included now to bump threads, right?
>>83366467
I hate edgy stuff too but this was actually pretty good once I read it.
If you want something godawful and edgy then I recommend Supergod.
>>83367003
Yeah, Mark Waid is usually a solid writer, and these two series were varying degrees of good. (Though, ironically, I think he ends up doing exactly what Grant Morrison said this series proves he doesn't always do.)
And I liked Supergod. It wasn't the strongest of Ellis's books, but it wasn't a bad little story.
THANK YOU BASED OP!
>>83366167
It's seriously a life saver
>>83367142
Yeah, I broke down and got that after issue 2. So, I will probably be storytiming more things to justify getting it.
>>83367094
It was stupidly edgy, misanthropic, I hated it, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
Nnnnnot the brightest move there.
>>83366167
i think you can opt into those type of captchas in settings
Ah, I take it back, that was kinda bright.
>>83367210
I love Warren Ellis, so my opinion is a bit biased, but I always thought even his bad work was still better than a lot of writers out there.
Maybe I'll do Planetary or Global Frequency as the next storytime.
>>83367177
Careful, that's how I ended up doing the entire Ultimate Universe
>>83367210
Ellis is one of my favorite writers and I really enjoyed Supergod as well as No Hero, but I felt Black Gas 2 by him was one of the worst things I've ever read because of those descriptors you listed, so be sure to stay the fuck away from that series. Even if you don't like the themes, you can at least say Supergod had some interesting designs, right? Well Black Gas has jack shit going for it.
>>83367274
Both excellent choices, I'd go with Global Frequency because I don't hear it brought up as much here as the former and it'll be easier since its shorter and the stories are self contained for the most part.
Lllllliar.
>>83367443
I don't think I'd ever heard of Blackgas until just now. I'll have to look that up.
And it's a shame Global Frequency didn't get a TV series. Then again, TV probably would've watered it down considerably.

With a design likea super with the ability to use human bodies to create horrific machines out of writhing thinking peopleora mushroom super who just wanders around releasing spores that make humans masturbate and mutilate themselves into they turn into a horrific blob of fungus covered in human facesI'm going to say that falls into the stupidly edgy and misanthropic catagory.
Also that nihilistic precognotist seemed like a run of the mill nihilistic atheist stereotype.
>>83367622
Misanthropic, maybe, but I think it was edgy with a point - namely, that people that far beyond what we would call human are NOT going to have human motives, desires, or ultimately, human forms.
>>83367673
Like I said, stupidly edgy and misanthropic. Any such message could have been achieved been done without the shit I've listed off. It's a horror comic that hates humans. Nuff said.
>"That's SUPER Volt."
I like this twist on the Fortress of Solitude. You can trek to just about any spot in the Arctic or Antarctic, but we don't have lava-diving suits yet.
>>83367274
Plz do the Planetary crossover. I love those.
I'm glad they explained that the Plutonium was actually inherently insane rather than trying to argue that if you have super powers then you will ultimately try to eradicate humanity.
>>83368701
Really, all of Planetary is pretty great. One of the major deconstructions of superhero comics, while still being a good superhero comic in its own right.
"We're going on the grand human adventure... and the rest of you aren't invited."
Ya know, I hope people are actually reading this. I just realized I'm storytiming in the middle of the night, because I have the sleep habits of an owl with a drug problem.
There are absolutely no homoerotic undertones to this page that will be explored later. Really.
>>83368996
>Some five-year-old flip you off?
I like that line. It really emphasizes nothing justifies what the Plutonian has done.
>>83369242
Homoerotic? You know damn well what is homoerotic about this comic and it isn't that relationship. That relationship was closer to father and son.
>>83369145
I'm reading
>>83369291
Plutonian and Samsara, yes.But Samsara isn't home anymore...
I love this guy. All the best bits of Etrigan, with a sprinkling of Captain Marvel.
Dunno why that last one spoilered. My bad.
