>The always reliable JoBlo.com have another fresh batch of Marvel Studios scoopage today, revealing tons of details about what we should expect from Thor: Ragnarok. For starters, they mention that the God of Thunder's mission is going to revolve around him needing to find "the ultimate weapon" in order to stop Ragnarok from taking place. Could that be another one of the Infinity Stones? It seems likely as we get closer to the release of Avengers: Infinity War, but we'll just have to wait and see.

>Where things get really interesting though is what the site says about how Thor: Ragnarok will adapt the Planet Hulk storyline. Apparently, we're getting something of a mash-up between that and the Ragnarok storyline, with both heroes winding up on a planet where gladiatorial games are taking place. Who's in charge? Well, as many of you have already guessed, it will be The Grandmaster.

>It's during this part of the film that The Hulk will don the classic Planet Hulk armour from the comic books, something which promises to be an absolute delight to see on the big screen. It's Thor's new look which is most shocking though as Chris Hemsworth will apparently be rocking a shaved head for some of the movie, an appearance it's fair to say will be vastly different for him. Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie meanwhile will, "be wearing war paint on her face, much like a Native American warrior."

>The site also mentions that The Night Manager's Elizabeth Debicki is playing Ayesha/Her/Kismet/Paragon in James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 (something CBM revealed earlier this year), and confirm that the team will appear in Avengers: Infinity War.
>>
>>83346412
>classic Planet Hulk armour
I wouldn't really call it classic, it's on the same level as his SHIELD armor.
>>
>>83346412
Damn, I hope that's true. Be a great place to highlight a lot of cameos from characters that might otherwise not show up like Korg, as part of the gladiator games.

Is Gunn really gonna do some weird High Evolutionary shit? Not very GOTG...

I can't help but feel this is a fake generated by people thinking Warlock will be involved in Infinity War.

Don't know why they would specify Native American. It's not like war paint wasn't used by Norse and Celtic warriors.

How is the High Evolutionary "not very GotG"? The current incarnation spun out of Annihilation: Conquest which had HE as one of the major supporting characters. Not to mention Adam Warlock being one of the main characters of the DnA run.

>>
>>83348492
We already know the basics.
>>
>>83348535

Outside of Origin Story, not really

We don't know who Mads is playing or what he's trying to achieve.

Will the Eye be an Infinity Stone? I hope not

Mardo going to turn on Strange?

Are the Vishanti involved in anyway?
>>
>>83348645
Mads, whoever he is, wants to let evil cosmic beings into our dimension.
>>
>>83348645
>or what he's trying to achieve
Yes we do. The Ancient One is trying to keep the barrier between the MCU Earth and all the other neighboring dimensions sealed off from each other (shit like the Dark Dimension or Chaos Dimension).

Mads says that's bullshit and she's just trying to maintain her power base. The denizens from those other dimensions could very well be trying to help them and they should be allowed in.

Basically, he wants to weaken the walls between worlds so people like Dormammu and Shuma-Gorath can get in under the misconceptation that they're benevolent forces, and not, y'know, horrible lovecraftian demons and conquerors.
>>
>>83348645
>Will the Eye be an Infinity Stone? I hope not
All but confirmed that the time stone is inside the Eye. It's that green gem that you can see here:
>>83348492
>>
>>83346412
>Elizabeth Debicki is playing Ayesha/Her/Kismet/Paragon in James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2
Was kinda hoping for her to be a Carol cameo, but oh well.
>>
>>83348946
They would announce it if she was Carol though.

Pretty sure the Russos said that Infinity War Part 1 will be the first time we'll see her.
>>
>>83348946
She's hot
it'd of been a good choice
>>
>>83348492
It's because people still don't know who Mads is playing. I can assure you that once they let that information loose, people will start coming up with "leaks" all over the place. It is funny how we've gotten Spider-Man and Thor "leaks" but nothing on Strange.
>>
>>83348795

I don't want to believe it. This gives room for them to take the eye away from Strange. That's like taking Mjolnir from Thor.

There's no way they are doing Infinity Gauntlet without Thanos having all 6 gems

>Vision: dead on arrival via gem being ripped out of his head
>Strange: almost completely useless since the Eye has always been his "fuck off and die" weapon
>>
>>83349047
I thought someone said Mads was going to be Anthony Druid.
>>
>>83346938
cultural appropriation
>>
>>83349085
Feige in an interview about it:
>“In this film, the Eye is a very important relic that can be quite dangerous if used in the wrong hands, because it has the ability to do any number of things, the most dangerous of which is, it can sort of manipulate probabilities. Which is also another way of saying, ‘screw around with time’ — which is part of our story.”

So it can screw around with time, which is a major plot point of the movie, and there's very clearly a green stone inside the eye based on the press photos we've seen. Also, following the MCU's trend of "colors aren't the same as the comics" this means the time stone has to be green, since the soul stone is the only other infinity gem left and the 616 soul gem is green.

We're likely getting Time Stone (green) inside the Eye for Dr. Strange, then having the Soul Stone (orange) being the macguffin that Thor is looking for in Thor: Ragnarok.
>>
>>83346938
This is starting to sound like they just want to reference the theory that vikings sailed to America, could've been worse.
>>
>>83347676
Fair enough, I was just looking for something beyond the obvious Warlock connection everyone has been assuming. I forget she used to run around with Quasar.

Every time. I honestly didnt care too much about Heimdall but Valkyrie is actually an iconic marvel superhero. It doesnt even sound like it looks like her. Thats like having a Hercules movie, but having him played by Dolph Lundgren wearing samurai armor.

>>83350183
Yes people who actually read the comics consider characters who havent been in the movies as iconic. Wonder Man, Moon Knight, Hercules, Iron Fist, Black Knight, Scarlet Spider, and even Valkyrie.
>also have they said Valkyrie is Brunnhilde?
It'd be just as bad if she wasn't. Even if it's an occupational title itd be retarded not to use THE Valkyrie.
>>
>>83350213
It's also possible that production will be slower because of the studios interface.

Either way, a proper Spider-man movie should not have the insane production of the cosmic marvel movies like GotG2 and Thor 3.

Heck, I'd go as far as to say that the first MCU Spidey movie should have around the same production budget as Ant-Man to keep it small and smart. That plus RDJ's salary, of course.

And Ragnarok and Roll itself is only 3 issues.
I loved, fucking LOVED those setup pages, but that's all they were. Single pages. One per issue, sometimes not even that. On screen you could fart through that in 1 minute, 2 if you're feeling indulgent.
It also kinda illustrates my point: I'd say Simonson's Ragnarok is probably the most iconic, but simply because it happened to be a part of Simonson's overall must-read run. Bill and Hela curse and fucking Throg get brought up more in association with that run than the Ragnarok bit, which only happens like a third of the way in anyway. I don't think the term Ragnarok is even uttered outside of the title.

HULK: Ragnarok
Guest Starring Thor

Thor is going to get totally overshadowed in his own movie, just like Cap.

This. This info has been leaking out for months now, Marvel is definitely trying to get its audience back for another Thor film. Getting rid of Portman might have been good news for the fans, but they have to work hard to get the goodwill from the general audience. A big draw for them was the rom com aspect, but that was pre-Avengers. Now their brand image enough should do to sell the movie, they just need to get the fans back for buzz.

>It's Thor's new look which is most shocking though as Chris Hemsworth will apparently be rocking a shaved head for some of the movie

I'm booing already.
Outside of his odd giraffe neck, Hemsworth has at least looked the part the whole time.

Bald Thor ain't Thor, and he ain't an acceptable substitute for the Balder we aren't ever going to get in these movies, either.

Dammit I wanted Bill in Hulks place. Fuck the cameo, Id rather have nothing

I didn't ask what he looked like, retard. I asked what they were saying.

They are saying korg
>>

Nnno, they're not.
>>83349687
>>

So, you are literally deaf then.
>>
>>83367946
Listen again, you mouth-breathing Down syndrome anal wart. Their chant has two syllable. Korg is ONE syllable. Know what has two syllables though? Ulik.
>>
>>83348492
Marvel does a pretty good job on keeping the lid on leaks.

Like, we've had the Ghostbusters script leaked for almost a year now, and I think X-Men got leaked shortly before release, though I could be remembering wrong.
>>
>>83367991
They are chanting Ku-org
>>
>>83367991
Ok, let's for your sake assume that they are indeed chanting Ulik. Why? Why would they chant Ulik's name if Ulik isn't even there?
>>
>>83368070
Because that was Ulik, moron. With all the things they change for the movie adaptations, THIS is the one you are confused with?

>>83368065
Desperation ill suits you.
>>
>>83368113
Blind too? That's clearly, CLEARLY Korg.

>>83352841
People say this but if you dropped ancient egyptians into the present day you'd call them niggers or even sand niggers. Just based off how they look
>>
>>83368159
Yeah, it looked like Korg. But they still called him Ulik.
>>
>>83368213
And yet he's not, sorry.
>>
>>83368274
But sand niggers aren't black. Plus, maybe you should google some ancient Egyptian art, because they're practically tanned white people.
>>
>>83368278
Then why were they calling him Ulik, moron?
>>
>>83368213
>>83368149

there are black people that look like practically tanned white people senpai

also even if sand niggers aren't black, going back to Gods of Egypt, why not have them be played by sand niggers instead of white people?

>>83368372
Just to make it clear, this is more backing up what >>83368340 said, as it's just some Kronan according to the artist's title.

Wait, the plot in Civil War was trying to stop a bad guy from unleashing super soldiers as an ultimate weapon. Doesn't matter if that wasn't his actual thing in the end, the heroes all thought it was until the reveal.

>>
>>83350046
Fuck off. You don't know shit. Heimdall is much more iconic to Thor than Valyrie.
>>
>>83368555
You know what? I really wish the first Thor movie had used Crusher Creel or the Wrecking Crew instead of the Destroyer. Think about Loki giving them the power to kill Thor after there was a feud created in the barfight scene. It's exactly the shit Loki would pull and it's the only chance to put Thor's street level villains in a movie. Crusher Creel would have been amazing.
>>
>>83354980
It's hulk
>>
>>83368482
>Wait, the plot in Civil War was trying to stop a bad guy from unleashing super soldiers as an ultimate weapon.
Even then, that only comes up in the... was it final act. I guess not, because they learn it before the airport fight. Middle, I guess.

The real plot of the film is Sokovia Accords and the Avenger's split. It vaguely looks like it's going to do the classic "heroes with real difference team up to fight the villain who was playing them and then ignore all those differences." But then that get's thrown out too.

In the end, the actual "he's after super soldiers" last for a minority of the movie. While Steve wouldn't have needed to get to the airport, that he escaped with Bucky first, before learning, shows he was already on the outs with the law.
>>
>>83368416
Then why were they chanting Ulik? It's not very clear but you can hear a "K" sound at the end of the second syllable.
>>
>>83370040
The Sokovia Accords and Avenger's split is completely irrelevant to the actual plot of the movie. Functionally the film starts at the UN bombing.
>>
>>83370159
But again, the actual "he's after super soldiers" shows up even further after that. It's basically right before the airport and done away with not long after. It's a bit off to say it's actually the plot of the movie.

Their split IS the plot. The entire movie revolves around how it changes how the Avengers work together, who gets roped into the conflict, and was Zemo's entire plot. The movie does not play out or end in even remotely the same way without the idea that the Sokovia Accords bring a split amongst the Avengers and brings their conflicting views to the forefront that culminates in Iron Man trying to kill Bucky and him and Steve Fighting.

Make new heroes to fit your proggresive narrative if it's so important. Why change current heroes who fit the timeline in which they were created? I don't care about lesbian, or black or even muslim super heroes as long as they are new and original and not bastardizations of long loved previous characters. Is that so hard to understand?
>>
>>83367878
>>83349531
You are literally retarded. I don't know what they're chanting, but it sounds something like "War-vain" or "Wor-hag". There's nothing close to either an Ul sound or an Ik sound (or Ooo or Lick).
>>
>>83370111
Well for one they weren't chanting Ulik...

Why is it even called Ragnarok (ie the end of the world etc) when it's about gladiatorial combat in outer space?

Are we even going to see Odin fight Fenrir or Thor fighting the Midgar Serpent?
>>
>>83370040
The Accords and the team's inept clusterfuck response to Wanda's situation did far more lasting damage than the Bucky shenanigans.

The Bucky stuff is like a burn that fades, the other stuff is a lasting deep scar.

no we're gonna see Thanos systematically execute them all then blowup asgard
