Remember how Ren and Stimpy got significantly worse when their restrictions were lifted? It's called relying on shock and gross out humor over being creative, and the former is a novelty that wears off quick (or if you've been on 4chan for 7 years as I have, it doesn't do anything at all).

that is an entirely fair assessment, thought I personally feel the show has improved somewhat in the second season, but that's just me.
The shows gotten better, but by a very minuscule amount. The shows still very shit. The art is incredibly ugly, the animation is dumb, the jokes are very unfunny and based on shock more than being clever with their set pieces. Sometimes I find myself actually enjoying the side characters doing their thing but then it just goes back to Mr. Pickles unfunny gore ride.
Probably the best episode was he superhero one due to the continuing joke with the sidekick, but as far as most episodes go it just lacks any level of entertainment. I think the space episode is the best example, as you would expect a spin off show inside the show would in some way divulge from the shows world, but no, it's the same shit, and literally does nothing different. The joke is it's in space.
tl;dr the shows boring and stupid and you might smirk every 2 episodes.
