what did he mean by this?
>>
I hope they make his costume red in season 3.
>>
Casual here.
Why the fuck is Jay Garrick actually Hunter Zoloman? This was never true in the comics was it?
>>
>>83324853
>Why the fuck is Jay Garrick actually Hunter Zoloman?

He wasn't. Did you watch the show?
>>
>>83324853
Hunter Zolomon was never Jay Garrick, he was just pretending to be when he got bored of being Zoom. Jay Garrick was locked up in Hunter's sex dungeon.
>>
>>83324895
I'm not caught up yet.
>>
>>83324956
well keep watching

Mach represents how fast something is compared to the speed of sound.

At 50 times the speed of sound, you'll be hitting the air so hard, you'll be vaporized like a meteor hitting the atmosphere.

For comparison, the space shuttle hits the atmosphere on reentry at mach 25.
>>
>>83324956
You need to get faster.
>>
>>83324996
speed force negates that sort of friction though so it seems like it's more a matter of using a different unit than mach 50 literally not existing
>>
>>83324956
Spoilers then if you don't mind. I'll black it in case you do: Jay Garrick is the Man in the Iron Mask, Flash of Earth-3 and also John Wesley Shipp. Zoom accidentally found himself in Earth-3 which is how he learned about the multiverse and was ready to exploit it when Thawne's device fucked up at the end of season 1.
>>
>>83324935
So that's why Caitlin was there.

Hunter needed a dom.
>>
>>83325159
>speed force negates that sort of friction

Not in the show, though. You'll recall from the final battle that the time remnant Barry ran so fast, even with speed force negating some friction, that he ended up vaporized.
>>
>>83324233
My God he looks adorable.
>>
>>83325243
That wasn't from friction.

Guys so I'm left behind and didn't caught up. Last time I left during that green arrow flash crossover, didn't like it.

What episode should I continue off? Hearing shit got good.
>>
>>83326129
You watch it in order, you dumbfuck.
>>
>>83324233
Mach 1 is the speed of sound. Each mach after that is one more unit, each unit being the speed of sound. So Mach 50 is the 50x the speed of sound, approx. 38363.5mph. We can't go that fast, but it is most certainly a thing.
>>
>>83326129

Just watch it all.

The Flash is the only good Arrowverse show. Encourage them to make more shows like the Flash. Discourage them from making more shows like Arrow.
>>
I just finished the season finale
what the fuck was barry thinking? why did he go back and save his mom? what the fuck is going to happen once Zoom from earlier in Earth-2' s timeline starts bringing people over? does he realize he's just fucked over central city?

>Talks about 'absolute hot' like it's a practical thing that could totally exist on earth made by humans.

>Mach 50 isn't real

Fuck off Barry.
>>
>>83326406
uhh well both Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 are going faster than that (and probably still accelerating) by some considerable way and so in fact are we - "mach 50" is slower than the speed at which we swing around the sun

however he's technically correct to say it isn't a thing because only people who measure distance in swimming pools and football fields would ever try and use mach 50 as a speed, since it provides no useful frame of reference and is unintentionally oblique

>>83326672
>absolute hot

I'm so glad all these CW shows are on a finite lifetime, that is absolutely fucking appalling
>>
>>83326924

>finite lifetime

Supernatural is still going strong
>>
>>83326602
Flash has the problem of Barry having good intentions but doing the most retardedly stupid things
>>
>>83326602
He's blaming himself for his parents' death and trying to undo every bad thing that he feels has happened because he's the Flash.

And without him, the singularity will never be created, so a breach will never be opened to Earth-2 and Zoom will never find Earth-1 or, even if he does, have no reason to target it since there's no Flash to steal speed from.
>>
>Earth-2 is more like traditional Earth-3 with alignment swap
I had to gut through that whole concept
>>
>>83326924
>"mach 50" is slower than the speed at which we swing around the sun
It's actually about half the speed of earth's orbit. We're going about 67,000mph, which would be about Mach 96.
>>
>>83327195
I always thought Earth 3 swapped everyone's moral alignment. CW E2 had a "flash" who was really zoom, and Snart was the mayor, but non-powered people like E2 Barry and Iris were still good folk.
>>
>>83327195
You've got to remember, the numbering is all relative.

They just happened to discover what's normally Earth-3 first, so it's called Earth-2 instead
>>
>>83327371
In the comics, Crime Syndicate are from Earth-3. However CW probably thought it would throw off the casuals. So they made a decision to make it into Earth-2, and have Earth-3 be Earth-2 Comicbook wise.
>>

>>

That doesn't make mach 50 nonexistent. Barry said it, as a concept, isn't real, not that he couldn't do it

>>
>>83330130
>source?
The last episode? I hope it gets cleared up later because zoom's entire "destroy multiverse" plan triggers my autism. Then again so do time remnants
>>
>>83330216
Zoom was basically improvised horribly throughout the series.

Time remnants mostly make sense though. A time remnant is made when a speedster goes back in time, and then does something to prevent him from doing so. In our case, that's the point of those scenes with Zoom and Flash looking at their remnants.

We never saw Flash make his remnant. That's because he decides not to after seeing it, creating a paradox. The remnant comes from a timeline that no longer exists, which is why he attracts the ghosts.
>>
>>83329925

I've started it. I'll admit it seems better than Arrow, but not as good as The Flash.
>>
>>83324233
>>Mach 50 isn't a real thing

Mach 50 isn't a real thing yet.

The fastest any manmade object has ever entered the atmosphere was the Stardust probe in 2006, just edging out the Apollo moon mission capsules.

It hit the atmosphere at 28,000 mph, or roughly Mach 36.

So, really goddamn fast. As a note: The re-entry profile of that Stardust capsule was BRUTAL, it went from Mach36 to subsonic in less than two minutes.

I mean, velocity is relative (t. Einstein), so talking about the velocity of bodies/spacecraft in absolute terms is a bit silly. Similarly, the earth is moving at greater than mach 50 (much greater) relative to any one of billions of objects in the galaxy.

Really? I passively watched the threads on /co/ as the show ran cus I didn't have time to watch and you guys made it seem this way. Maybe it's part in knowing all the spoilers, but now I've had time to watch it and nothing really feels out of left field.

You can even see "Jay" somewhat distracted when they're talking about "The Turtle", as if it worries him, and when Caitlyn asks what's wrong he comes up with some BS about "I just can't stand not being able to help people".

As soon as they're trying to lure Zoom out he says it's dangerous and fucks off, just enough for Zoom to appear for the first time.

Even the Remnants come in early, from the Reverse-Flash episode.

The only thing that's felt off is Harrison mentioning how everyone on Earth-2 would know Hunter Zolomon at a glance....yet no one on Earth-2 noticed Jay Garrick was him. And what's worse is this comment is made a few episodes AFTER we learn Jay is hunter.

It's a matter of short or long scale:
In English, and ONLY in English, you go by powers of 1000 (short scale):

1 0000 = one
1 0001 = one thousand
1 0002 = one million
1 0003 = one billion
1 0004 = one trillion

Notice how the prefixes do not match the powers of the base (1 000)

Everyone else does it with millions instead (aka the long scale):

1 000 0000 = one
1 000 0001 = one million
1 000 0002 = one billion
1 000 0003 = one trillion

And so on. Notice how the prefixes match the powers of the base, which makes it superior.

It's mildly infuriating to convert in translations.
>>
>>83342502
oh look, it deformated the exponentials.

I meant:

It's a matter of short or long scale:
In English, and ONLY in English, you go by powers of 1000 (short scale):

1 000^0 = one
1 000^1 = one thousand
1 000^2 = one million
1 000^3 = one billion
1 000^4 = one trillion

Notice how the prefixes do not match the powers of the base (1 000)

Everyone else does it with millions instead (aka the long scale):

1 000 000^0 = one
1 000 000^1 = one million
1 000 000^2 = one billion
1 000 000^3 = one trillion

And so on. Notice how the prefixes match the powers of the base, which makes it superior.

It's mildly infuriating to convert in translations.

True fact: Nothing in the universe can actually go at mach 50. Once you get past mach 49, you just skip straight to mach 51, with no increments in-between.

I mean, you still translated wrong. Anyway, your system is infuriating too, because you have to insert a -iard, after every other power of 1000 (or at least you do in German, maybe not where you are), which is more confusing. If you just say 1000 million then it's fine, but not much more simple than the English system.

Wrong.

Barry didn't save his mom in season 1 because he was afraid. Afraid of sacrificing himself and his memories. Afraid that maybe life isn't better despite his mom and dad and wells and a shitload of lives being saved. Afraid that messing with time in the same way that Thawne did wouldn't work out. Afraid that maybe he couldn't even beat Thawne.

By the end of season 2 he's become the fastest speedster in the multiverse, saves the entire multiverse, finishes his arc with Iris, and gains the courage and selflessness to right history at his own expense.

A reminder: Flashpoint has nothing to do with Nora's life or death. It has to do with time-travelling the wrong way.

We also know for a fact that he still becomes the flash in the prime timeline, and that he marries Iris in it.

Flash season 2 finale was a perfect series finale and if you disagree you're an idiot.

Legends of Tomorrow is one of the biggest train wrecks I've ever seen. None of the writers communicated with each other, whoever was in charge of continuity/editing didn't do their job at all, and the blatant errors and idiot balls start piling up by the third episode and NEVER STOP COMING

Off the top of my head:
-Rip, on several occasions, kills Savage and then just leaves his body to wake up later instead of taking him onto the ship.
-Everyone is so focused on using the hawks to kill him that they ignore non-lethal solutions. Chuck his ass into space, Cars-style.
-Hawkman gets stabbed and everyone gets weepy and goes "we have to go on without him!" He fucking reincarnates and you have a TIME MACHINE. Go pick up the next incarnation you stupid fucks. Shit, why stop there? Go pick up EVERY incarnation! Beat the shit out of Savage with an army of them!
-The vanishing point is a bubble at the end of time. The crew is in the vanishing point and they time jump. The leader of the time masters then asks "Where did they go!? The future!?"
-The finale involves Savage trying to blow up three meteors at three different points in time. The team then splits up to "fight all three simultaneously" so that "he won't have a chance to react." Except it's not simultaneous, the meteors are decades apart, he'll have tons of time to figure out what's going on after he's stopped the first time.
-What the bullshit device shows is the future, and it's immutable! Ignore that there's not supposed to be a future in the vanishing point and ignore that it turns out to somehow be wrong! Something something time free will!
>>

Season Finale made up for all that. It was an incredibly enjoyable episode.

The problem with the show is that there's 22 episodes, 15 of which are useless filler. If they managed the season the way Daredevil or most UK shows do, they'd have a fantastic 10-episodes show instead of a below average 22-episodes one.

Huh, I just assumed in this continuity he less "wakes up" with his body healed, and more just reappears somewhere on earth randomly the same way the hawks reincarnate.

I mean yeah, it's shit but yeah.

Also on solving the issue:
Can someone explain to me why the dude had to take with him the guys who are the least important to history?
It's pretty clearly hinted that the heavy hitters were a thing.
How many Superman level entities could he just have shown up on the doorstep of, said "Hey, this is a bit confusing, but Judgement Day's going to happen unless you fuck this dude up" and take care of Savage in a few minutes.

They literally could not think of an actual reason so they pretended it was because they have no impact on history (despite later showing that their being missing did indeed have an appreciable impact)

It's just another failing node in a web of total bullshit they use to prop up the events of the series. None of it makes sense on even a cursory inspection.

>what the fuck is going to happen once Zoom from earlier in Earth-2' s timeline starts bringing people over?
We're back to the "original" timeline that was never seen on the show where both of Barry's parents lived and he became the Flash in 2020 instead of 2014. Either it never became a problem or someone else took care of it.

Do you think S3 will bring in Hot Pursuit and/or the Renegades?

Supernatural has a huge fan cult. Supernatural can sell bikinis at Hot Topic. Flash, Arrow and all the rest of the CW superheroes can barely sell a couple of tshirts and some bobblehead dolls, which tends to imply that Supernatural is for mature individuals who haven't been teenagers for a long time, go outside, and have real lives, which would tend to gel with what we know about the ratings and the length of time it's been going.

That's just comparing noted whorehouse of pop culture Hot Topic's ranges, not even the other retailers available. It's not even in the same league. In order to get in the same league, any one of these shows needs to have a hard corps of fans who will buy any old shit with Arra written on it, but that doesn't seem likely - in recent days headliners from both Flash and Arrow's cast have felt the need to speak out about the direction WB is taking with superheroes as a whole, which tends to imply they feel there's nothing left to lose by doing so. It's not like headlining is a form of tenure; these shows are hardly doing well enough for that.

>Flash season 2 finale was a perfect series finale and if you disagree you're an idiot.

You're an idiot if you think Flash is even a mediocre show. It's complete trash.
