Disney did their boring safe 'look you can trust us with the ip' movie already with VII.

Only way to do it (that I can figure out at least), is by adding people that are near me in game, which means I can invite people into the game unless we're on at the same time. Most of his "muh chosen one" stuff was about the potential he had, but never quite reached.

But if you want examples of crazy shit he did that other Jedi couldn't, he;

>Jumped out of hyperspace into the middle of a space battle

and

>Controlled the Son and Daughter Celestials on Mortis

Those are two feats no other Jedi or Sith have ever done, as far as we know.

The hyperspace thing is, slightly less impressive now though, thanks to JJ making Han able to Hyperspace safely into a planet, without even being Force sensitive.

Do you guys think Snoke knows about Mortis?

Also I think we're probably going to get some Mortis pottery in the ST (assuming Rian has seen TCW). Just think, Rey could be the daughter, Kylo could be the son, and Luke could be the father if he is more of a grey Jedi now. Not literal biology, but in pottery.

>>
>>83319332
I've read a lot of theories about Snoke being a Celstial. I'd be 100% ok with it. It directly comes from the barely-used lore Lucas left, and actually presents a legitimate greater threat that isn't just Sheev 2.0, without discrediting the previous threats in the franchise.

In fact, it's too good to be true.

To be fair he's shown knowledge in some really obscure canon shit like the force tree in Shattered Empire and has been involved in Bloodlines. I wouldn't be surprised if he's seen it since it's one of the most important things in canon other than the movies.
>>
>>83319587
I think the Force Tree was part of the plan all along. Things like that and the general outlines for the movies were planned way before Episode 7 came out
>>
>>83319587
Even if he hasn't seen TCW I'm sure Lucasfilm has regular meetings about lore and the direction of Star Wars in general. In fact I know they do.
>>
>>83319552
> Snoke being a Celstial.
That would be too awesome.
But I doubt they'd ever have him be that.
"Too confusing for the casual fans" or something like that.

And OT Elitists would definitely hate the idea, seeing as they hated midichlorians and want the force to be "mystical" and "unexplained".
>>
>>83318106
do we have to be twi'leks to join?
>>
>>83319691
Well the Celestials were pretty mysterious weren't they? It was the first arc in TCW that attempted to prove the Force was still mysterious, the second being the Yoda arc.

>>83319683
Kathleen Kennedy very likely did watch TCW, because she's close friends with Lucas. The Lucasfilm Story Group have probably watched TCW repeatedly.

I wouldn't be surprised if they used the Mortis arc as a starting point for new ideas, considering those episodes always seem to be fan favorites whenever people mention TCW.

The movie directors may not have watched TCW. (They may have, I don't really know. I doubt any of them will admit they haven't, because they're all shitscared of being seen as not real fans)

But the directors aren't the ones coming up with the overall story. In fact, people seem to keep forgetting that Lucas left an outline for the next three movies (and the Han Solo movie)

Granted they apparently changed a lot of his TFA plan, but still. It's entirely possible it was him who suggested Snoke be a Celestial, and possible that Kathleen/LSG/The movie writers have kept that idea.

Implied.

Two Force sensitive trees are stolen from the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, but Luke tracks them down. He leaves one with Poe's mother, leading people to believe it may have affected Poe and helped give him his godly reflexes.

The other tree, we can only assume he took to replant at a new Temple. Leaked pictures from the EP8 set show a tree that looks very similar to the one in Coruscant, seen during TCW, leading people to believe it's the tree Luke got in Shattered Empire, and he planted it there as the foundation of a new Jedi Temple.
>>
>>83328399
Eh, maybe I'll give it a look then. I just feel like that'll probably get like maybe a few lines of dialog and the tree won't be important at all to the plot.

It's not that two trees were stolen. There was only one tree at the Temple. These are the offspring, whether from seeds or cuttings.

Sure that probably seems like a nitpick but when you think about it the tree from the Jedi Temple had twins. Which is worth noting in Star Wars even if it's not clear what the significance of them is. Could be accidental pottery but there's definitely something planned for two trees. Something to do with Poe? Or just so there is a spare since the one at Luke's temple probably didn't survive.

Amazing what these trees have scene. My favorite has to be the original one at the Coruscant Temple having Anakin pin Barriss against it in one of his very nasty near Dark Side moments.

You and your friends feel like now is the perfect time to make to make some quick cash while the Rebellion is still cleaning up and the galaxy is still lawless. Its up to you whether you or your friends get in over your head.

Coming off The Force Awakens, there’s an incredibly high bar for this movie and we have a responsibility to the franchise and to the fans to deliver the best possible movie we can.”

Well, Godzilla may not have been in the original Godzilla that much, but back then, he wasn't a big name.

These days, people go to a Godzilla movie because they want to see Godzilla.

>>83338490

Agreed. I think he's the only one who actually understood Lucas' vision and has what it takes to give the same kind of touch the previous six movies had and what TFA lacked. Like a longer production schedule for instance. A proper SW film should take like three years to produce from writing to post. Not all of it within just one year.
>>
>>83338573
That's pretty fucked if true. It was the one thing we were all hoping wouldn't happen.

At least Lucasfilm and the people who work in it have a genuine passion for Star Wars. I feel a lot more comfortable knowing a decision has been made by them, than by an unknown person at Disney. I was hoping that part of Lucas's contract was that Kathleen/Lucasfilm could have creative freedom as long as they don't fuck it up. Executive meddling is worrying. Plus the LSG may have to sort out any messes that get made because of it all. Admittedly not high up on the list of problems, but still important to us dedicated fans.

I bet it was some stupid shit like "not enough Vader", or as someone else already said, something controversial with the female lead.

Assuming this is all true of course. Only 1 source.

Disney was always shit at making movies. I can admire Walt Disney because that guy got balls but the company?
>In one version, predators were required to wear shock collars that would zap them if they started getting too excited, and Nick ran an underground club where predators could remove the collar and experience a taste of the wild life. Nick was originally going to be the main character, with Judy as the Deuteragonist. However, with only a year left in production, the directors realized that this version of the setting was simply "too sad"
Too sad? Nobody thought this sounded like shit from the beginning? But it gets better.
> In an even earlier version, the ur-concept was a James Bond parody featuring a jackrabbit spy named Jack Savage. They had the titles mapped out for the first five films, starting from Savage Seas, but everyone liked the animal city better than the spy adventure.
Coming from the company that created classics like:

Yeah, seriously. As much as I like the idea of anthologies, Rogue One seems like it'd be okay at best and really unnecessary, and I have no hope for the Han Solo one. And the one Trank was kicked out of is said to be Boba Fett (unconfirmed but stated by numerous sources), another one that I wouldn't be that enthused about. It's pretty clear that they're not using the anthology concept to really explore any interesting story ideas and are just going to go with whatever they think will sell.

Dark Side happens no matter what, as it's a result of living. An animal trapped, wounded is suffering. Infighting in a pack. Animals devouring each other.

The base emotions that tie you to existence will always happen, and it depends on the individual how much they want to distance themselves from that. (Or emerge in case of Shits).

You can't destroy or contain it, it'll always be there, and frankly, it's not so bad if you don't jump into it.
It depends on how someone using the force will use it.. have you ever been in a fight and won? Had someone on the ground withering? Congrats, you getting that sweet adrenaline and endorphine rush that makes you feel good about it earns you a darkside point, but hold yourself back and not kick that person's head to be a total dick (sith).

There are more force-adept training paths in the galaxy than Jedi/Sith (see: Nightsisters who exclusively use Dark Side powers but aren't Sith, the Kel'Dor have their own council of light-side users). Theoretically, there should be some out there who combine both aspects more often, but that hasn't been explored yet in nuCanon.

Not so much contained, but rather just not fed.

Pain, suffering, death, conflict, these create the dark side. Naturally, there will always be these things, so the dark side will always exist. But when you have a galaxy wide war and a galaxy wide regime afterward deliberately creating pain, suffering and death on a galactic scale, that creates shitloads of the dark side and throws the force out of balance and gives guys like the Sith an enormous well to draw UNLIMITED POWER from.

Look, if I was Jedi, I would totally rape underage girls to and have them do whatever I want. I'm protecting the fucking galaxy. Besides, it's only evil from a certain point of view

When they "test" the movie for whatever fucking audience, how does that work anyway? Who gets to see the movie to see if it doesn't suck ass? The company guys? Random strangers with neck bombs that explodes if they talk?

Nah, well not now at least. Just asking some minor questions I've had to keep the thread active.

Suffering, yeah. Maybe something pragmatic or proactive that causes suffering without coming from a place of fear, hate, etc. Trying to think of an example.

>>83341079
Okay, that makes sense.

>A test screening is a preview screening of a movie or television show before its general release in order to gauge audience reaction. Preview audiences are selected from a cross-section of the population, and are usually asked to complete a questionnaire or provide feedback in some form.

This is why Star Wars movies will never be good again.
>Preview audiences are selected from a cross-section of the population
Normies get to decide what's good for Star wars, think about that.

I can understand making popular Trilogies for them(even though I am loathe to admit it), but I really just wanted a Star Wars movie that could have pushed the boundaries a little, just a little. Not by much, but apparently Disney can't accept this>>83335088 and are now in the process of reshooting it.

To think, I thought Disney would have waited a few more years before meddling with the Star Wars movies and Storygroup.

Yup, that's what I hoped the anthologies would do. Try new things and test out different genres for Star wars films.

And yeah, they're definitely Force Awakens:ing up Rogue One, because TFA did good and "felt like Star Wars".

Can we find out later on what the reshoots were like in world war z? Because I wanna know what disney wanted to be different and what they add to the movie.

This was what I wanted. The Star Wars universe is so damn huge and full of potential to have many stories within its boarders. To just leave it all in the dark and never let it see the light of day is what kills.

Isn't this what Star Wars was supposed to be? If the tv shows can do it then why the hell can't they do it with the new films?
>>
>>83342099
Because 'muh OT'
>>
Until there's actual confirmed re-shoots I'm treating this as bullshit.
>>
>>83342031
This>>83335219. The man that played the bad guy wanted his character to be a little more three-dimensional, the writers and directors allowed it to happen, but Marvel/Disney cut and changed the scenes so that what we got was a boring and forgettable IM2 movie.

I just do not get as to why Hollywood just makes black and white distinctions to the good and bad guys to damn vivid.

>If the tv shows can do it then why the hell can't they do it with the new films?

Cause' the execs don't give enough shit about tv enough beyond keeping the violence and themes kid friendly to tell them no in regards to creative freedom. All the movies ever hence forth have to be 'Muh OT'.
>>
>>83342099
>then why the hell can't they do it with the new films
Because Hollywood wants easy billions and to do that you make films that are easy to produce and so simple a retard can follow it with ease.

>>83342151
We need to ask Pablo, someone tweet him. I'm hoping this is bullshit, but with Disney, them being dicks and circumventing directors and writers is what they're known for.

Storytelling is always about taking risks when you think about it. These big movies that cost 70-250 million dollars are created by committees, not directors.
>>
>>83342099
Because it's easier to just not do something that requires effort.
Normies will still gobble it up, which is the problem.

How much... George Clooney wants to bang Athena. I think. I'm not sure, really. I think they were trying to make a lighthearted sci-fi movie but they forgot to put in humor and story
>>
>>83343108
It's funny since Disney hyped it up super hard that they ever were going to make a Tomorrowland park section in Disneyland
