Nick Spencer is getting some hate now, but Superior Foes was really good and The Fix is only 2 issues in, but it's hilarious. He'd be a great fit.
The book sold a lot less before Slott. You might think he's shit, but his shit is the best selling shit Marvel has that's not Star Wars.

Zeb Wells.
He has a better sense of humor than Slott and writes a better Spider-Man. The only comics I didn't like by him were Carnage stories, but I guess I'm in minority on that one.
