I feel ya', it's always hard drawing a "neutral" stare in the show's style. That's probably why, in the actual episodes, characters rarely have the irises centered in the eye (unless when stratled, angry, scared...), they almost always look in some direction or they have the eyelid covering part of it.
You could try giving Star a goofier smile, making her cheeks go up a little, or open mouth, to show teeth, like pic related?

Not a specific tutorial per se: I kinda start with a line that describes the general direction of the pose, then make an extremely blocky version of the body volumes (head, upper torso, hips, etc.).
Then I start drawing layers upon layers of sketches, trying to improve on every passage.
…THEN, I realize that the neck is too long, and so is the torso, and I have to make drastic corrections!

Thicker lines suit the artstyle way more (and we're never going to get them back as thick as they were before Toon City... sigh).
And it's usually best to work with higher resolution, and then scale them down. 1700px height is probably way more than any VN needs, but you never know.

No prob, I'll try to keep it concise in one post since I know not everyone in the general cares about fics like us weirdos. Going to use Nervous Anatomy as my main review point since I read that one from beginning to end.
As far as dialogue and characterization for Star and Marco I thought you did well. The beginning portion where the two of them were conversing with one another felt natural and flowed well. For the kind of story it was it wasn't the worst plot device to get to the interesting bits but not the most natural either, especially with everything being in publicbut I'm guessing you did that to build to your sequel?As far as characterization goes Jackie felt the most odd to me, as she was either high as a kite or a stereotypical bimbo that went with everything almost too easily at the beginning. At the beginning of the sequel Janna wasn't bad and I thought it was funny that she was friends with StarFan so that they both got what they wanted. But I remember she left her house in bare feet when it was made a point that it was crazy hot outside. Made me wince thinking of her hitting the pavement with those.
More technical points, I've never been a fan of the "greentext" style of writing for a story posted elsewhere. But I'm guessing you recorded everything you shared here to preserve it for everyone else later. While these kinds of stories tend to have people being out of character by necessity Star seemed to veer off that way pretty hard all of a sudden and Jackie felt almost unnatural. The internal dialogue for Marco I'm guessing was him arguing with the Monster Arm, which was built to a punch line but would be confusing to anyone that hadn't seen that episode before so could have used a bit more set up.
I think you handle the characters well for the most part and would encourage you to try more traditional formed writing to refine yourself further.

Thanks Zehn, reviews like this help me out in the long run as I originally wrote the stories in the greentext format and since they tend to be less descriptive and stright to the point, I wondered how they hold up and what I need to do flesh them out. Also, sorry for the wall of text.
The first Nervous Anatomy was somthing written on the spur of the moment and is actually based off of a picture. For what it was, to me, it was surprisingly very well liked so I decided to give it a sequel after a ton of idea's came to me and I just had to get them written down.

Understandable, see when I was first writing it as a greentext story, I had to think up of a character and personality for Jackie on the spot since we really didn't have any idea on how she actually acts. So I thought to myself, since this is a green full of nonsense with a crazy scenario, what would be funnier? Then I decided it might be good if Jackie acted nonchalant about being in the buff, so I tried to make her into an air-head. That's why she acts the way she does cause it turns out she's actually not very sensible at all. I thought that this would play off of Marco's serious side well for laughs when it turns out that his crush wasn't so high on the pedestal as he made her out to be, which is what the sequal and later stories down the road will deal with.

That's good that it worked out, though I still have yet to give Janna her moment in the spot-light so hopefully I do her justice.

Writing game takes time and repetition, like pretty much all art. Can see why greens are more appealing, you get immediate feedback. It's harder with full on stories because you need to host them somewhere and people have to seek them out to read them.
But hey, Season 2 stuff, am I right!? I'm probably going to hold off on writing anything for Star until it finisheswith the exception possibly being something for Cupil's St. Olga AU.

This looks nice actually! Though if I may nitpick, the hand holding the wand seems to be at the wrong angle. The fingers don't seem to wrap around the wand correctly... At this angle, the wand should be rotating more to the left than it currently is. Aside from that, the drawing's good! It's very vibrant and colorful! Adding on to what I said previous thread: This may sound fanfic-ish, but this sounds good. I had a dream yesterday where Star went to a school to improve her magic skills. Little did Star know the principal was a transformed Toffee. She figured it out due to the bizarre dark magic teaching methods she discovered in a book, plus she saw Toffee turn into a second form (The Principal). Toffee's second form looked like a combination of the headmaster from Monsters University and his original form. Star tries to make the students believe, but they don't listen. Star tries to find out throughout the school arc what Toffee is doing and why. Toffee is actually trying to send her down the wrong path so she can get corrupted and surrender the wand. Remember, Toffee hates Star's magic, but the wand is still there. I think Tom was a student in the school, who is no longer in love with Star because of the Blood Moon Ball incident. He's like the snitch to Toffee, who will be his third in command (when he learns the truth), next to Miss Heinous (The St. Olga's Headmaster and a teacher in disguise) It does sound like a good plot if it's done well.

I think I'll make all the necessary poses and expression for this outfit, then see how much time and effort I have left to give, and think of one or two additional series with changed clothes.

I wouldn't say there's much of an issue in terms of art skills. Folly seems capable of drawing poses quite well, but would rather use paths than draw by hand with a tablet. Which is definitely a valid move; for me drawing by hand is easier but the lines I make that way are decidedly less clean.

I liked the concept and execution of the story you were looking to tell. The story had some good length to it and you addressed a lot of questions like how their parents would feel and what they were doing instead of just sweeping them under the rug. Overall it was a solid story told clearly and with a bit of comedy using the puppies at the end.
The main critique I had at the end was the conversation felt a bit stilted. The characters responded to each other in a way that didn't always flow naturally. Also felt Marco was a little too understanding and not as unsure of everything as Star seemed to be.
I'm glad I read it, hope you got more on the way for us.
