They've been a bit of Fresh Air to the mainstream Marvel continuity. Kinda like how they're basically calling out everything that's wrong with the way things work in the Marvel Universe. Just hope the main book lasts long enough to do some more interesting things.

Welcome to comics in the modern day. New doesn't sell. Different doesn't sell. Good doesn't sell. Only brand sells. Only nostalgia sells. Only a handful of writer's names sell.
DC realized this with the Nu52 and went running back to the old comfy formula with Rebirth that appeals to the ever diminishing reader base of 30-40 year old comic book fans, but are the only people who buy comics. Can you blame them? The comic book industry simply just isn't sustainable as a diverse or experimental arena any more, no, the damage done in the 90s can't be undone and with the world of media changing so fast there's little hope of the medium ever regaining its footing in any significant manner. Comics will never truly die out, but they'll never be what they once were much like a dimming star that slowly encroaching upon its own death, the residents of a neighboring planet take comfort in what little light it still offers, cherishing what time they have left. And in much the same way all we can do is enjoy what few good things come our way for how ever briefly they last for our Star too dims as the industry cools.
There is a certain nobility in partaking of the twilight of something's existence.

The reason why it doesn't sell very well is because people will repost squirrel girl or mockingbird or Thor from dawn till dusk, raging about how angry the comic made them, getting these comics more attention than a solid, meat-and-potatoes super hero comic like Hyperion or the latest Captain Marvel run.
