I remember the guys who work on Lilo and Stitch the series used to post on whatever site is currently tv.com (I think it was called tvtube or soemthing). The crossovers happened because they knew they were getting canned either way, so they pitched the idea for shits and giggles.
They had to push pretty hard for Recess, because Disney didn't give a fuck about it anymore. A lot of L&S's staff had formerly worked on that show, which is why they pushed so hard for it.
