Hey /co/ /fit/izen here. Was going through my storage shed from when I was a kid and came across some of my comics. Very casual reader I just liked the art for the most part and was thinking of getting back into collecting again. So my question is what is your favorite cover from your collection? Pic related is mine, 2 of my favorites battling it out, something about bronze and silver age art that I love.
Probably my favorite cover artists would have to be either Mike del Mundo, Dave Johnson, or Raul Allen. I'm a big fan of the inventive design work they do, and how well they can represent a book's themes in the cover work. Here's a Del Mundo piece i'm a big fan of.
A Dave Johnson cover for 100 Bullets I really liked, he did a great job on that whole series.

That's an interesting one, what year was it made?

2012. Del Mundo did the whole series run of covers, which is always a treat. Just adds that extra panache of unity.
Were you thinking of mainly collecting comics based on the cover art, or do you have an interest in the art of comics in general?

I'm a pleb I just like the cover art, I put them in cases and put them on the wall in my hobby room. I like Spider-Man, cap, Loki, surfer, venom, daredevil but dr doom and the surfer catch my eye the most and I actually liked reading them. Haven't reall ventured outside dc and marvel really.

Thanks I'll go seek them out! So you know of any exceptional doom covers or crossovers? I only have like 2. Him and the green goblin are just excellently designed imo
Basically anything Brian Bolland touches is pure gold.
