Just watched it. Instead of a disappointment, got something closer to 8.5. Great movie.Would accept as a canonical ending to the strip.
Discuss.... maybe?

I haven't seen it because I'm afraid of thepop culture references.
How bad is thecringe factor?
Also, Patty took it like a champ at the end.
A true heroine of the story.

There are a few modern-ish songs, but they are few, used as background music (like at the dance contest), and never grow into musical numbers.

To elaborate, the music in the movie is mostly orchestra and jazz, as it should be.
And in the end,Charlie Brown finally finds SOME well-deserved happiness, and it is pulled off brilliantly.

Emphasis on "some".
I dunno, bump I guess.
To clear up some misunderstanding, there is zero pop culture references except some modern songs used sparingly.

I'll watch it over the weekend I suppose.
Sorry, that's all I got.
I loved it a lot. It was way better than I expected it to be (especially since blue sky was making it) but it was well done.
The only complaint I might have is I feel like they had a checklist of Peanuts gags they had to put in, and the scenes with the Red Baron kinda feeled out of place for me. But all in all a really well laid out movie.
There was wierdly only one non-disco related pop song segment. I wonder why they hired Flo Rider of all people though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2k7-PEqzfVo
They managed to refrain from brown washing for the most part. All the diversity quota characters are kept in the background where they belong. Violet's a light middle eastern or something now, but you'd have to pay close attention to even notice.
