I'm curious to see how they end it, and the whole magical elements thing, while pretty far out of the way, looks interesting through animation. The whole cartoony sound effects suck though (the algea of my eye scene)

Why did they never address this in any of the sequels? This added so much depth to the movie and characters, in fact, there are many emotional moments in the original Ice Age. What the hell happened to Blue Sky, now their movies are basically just a never ending stream of really bad jokes.
Blue Sky does the best slapstick visible humour out of all the big CGI studios

Also, Ice Age 2 still had Manny feeling alone, with him getting Ellie, that sort of connected with him being alone and all. Plus those mammoths coming in at the end.
Ice Age 2 makes me question, did that take place where Ice Age 1 did? How come in the first movie there was no Ice Wall in the shape of a bowl? If they got there in the 2nd, why didn't they go back where they came?

I think Shrek happened and they decided they just wanted to make their own version of Shrek.
It was easier to just recycle the Ice Age assets than to make a new thing.
