For one, I honestly don't know how much Nazi Hydra is. The article seems to imply so, but if Hydra hates everyone who's not white, then the author is saying that being an anti-semite is inherently worse than being racist in general.

And while it is true that this betrays everything the OG Captain America stood for, it's been what, 70 years? As shit as this thing is, we can't also hold every character to the inteded symbolism they had decades ago. Kirby is long dead, and I think he made his Captain America just the way he wanted too, and even though this is completly contrary to what he wrote, his work and artistic vision is still out there, untouched.

The problem I have with the article is that I think for Spencer this isn't just clickbait bullshit, I think he's trying to write a topical political story, and to make it more compelling than his earlier "Cap tells off racists" stuff with Steve he's getting into the mindset of what draws people to it, and he's dropping a first issue bombshell.
It may end up being fucking stupid, but I don't think it's cynical--if anything, he's too earnest for current cape comics.
