OP, this game is technically canon to the games.
And yeah, just stop when they kill off Peter and leave with the understanding that he died like the badass hero he was. Some of the Miles stuff was good but it always feels like reading a shallow version of what you really want.

Well obivously it doesnt follow the same storyline of the game for the most part but it's pretty good. The Ultimates even show up and theres a good fight with Thor himself

It's some good shit. Awful art for a lot of it (the splashes are usually fantastic though, some even iconic) and coloring is pretty bad too, but god damn, the story and characters are great.

Nah, it was originally supposed to be canon, but everything that followed it in the comics contradicted it. Pretty obvious Bendis didn't consider it canon and that was just a marketing move.

The crossovers really didn't happen until Miles' run though, outside of Ultimatum which was just a one time deal and the Ultimatum tie-in for USM was actually pretty good and doesn't require you to read Ultimatum to understand.
