I just wish he kept the huge lightning bolt, but I guess they wanted to distance it from Hunter's "Jay" costume. Otherwise it looks damn good on Shipp and will probably look even better if he shapes up some between now and season 3.
I find it kind of funny that every speedster we've seen so far has the exact same belt except Hunter-Jay.

It was a mostly fun little show that really didn't have the budget or the effects at that time. So yeah, some of it was grounded out of necessity but it sure did have it's share of wacky and silly episodes. It had plenty of fun. And the suit was decent/ok for it's time. Every live-action Flash suit has been far from perfect, so no real biggie there. Besides the cowl, I could really nitpick GG's outfit quite a bit.
And Burton's movies are anything but realistic, man. Dark, perhaps, but realistic?

Its mainly because of the blue that comes up at the waist. Theres a gap between his arm and his waist thats a blue background which makes it look like an extension and as if hes real pudge.

He has been sitting in a cell for at least a few years. I think they just smoothed out the detailing too much on the chest, it makes him look all the more out of shape since the jacket is roughly the same design as the other speedsters just with less pattern masking.

An evil Superman can carry a story by itself as an antagonist, with no good Superman counterpart around. See the Injustice comics and other stuff. An evil Batman isn't as common, but it could work too.
