Actually, can't stand the review, I've gotten in arguments with the guy over it, and I could care less if he gets views. Nvm, just ignore the video. I just wanted to know what people thought of Civil War.
It was lame. Disney Marvel has no grit or bite to it. It's kid friendly and has some nice action pieces. But, nothing to really ups he stakes or makes me go "oh shit".

Regardless of what other comic book movies did, Civil War was playing it so damn safe, it also didn't help that the catalyst for the conflict was dumb as rocks. It felt like a flimsy plot that was only in place to justify the airport fight scene. Everything else was a snoozefest.

I have a feeling this will be true. I won't be able to see it until Friday, but I'm conservatively hyped. I enjoyed First Class and DoFP more than most Disney Marvel movies. I feel like the increased negativity towards this latest installment is just a part of the anti-grimdark backlash in the wake of BvS, like from here on out, anything that isn't specifically Disney/Marvel brand approved FUN is going to get shit on.

I already saw it and Apocalypse is nowhere near as good as DOFP or First Class. That movie has severe problems. The script is a mess. Still not a bad movie, but it's probably more like a 6 or a 7.
This year has been a bit underwhelming to me so far.
I was hyped for Civil War because of Winter Soldier and that movie turned out to be... good... an 8. It's too bloated and gimmicky to be great though and I left feeling a bit disappointed. After Apocalypse I have to say, that it is a lot better than that at least. Still, I find Civil War a bit exhausting to watch emotionally. There is very little pay-off to anything in the movie.
I didn't watch BvS because I didn't like Man of Steel and nothing about it inspired any new confidence on my part.
Deadpool was the best cape film of the year in my eyes. We need more cape movies without huge giant event plots. Also we need actual X-Men movies at some point.

This is similar to my sentiment about CW. It could have worked better as a Avengers movie or a leaner movie with a smaller cast, but Ant-Man and Spider-Man didn't need to be there.
