The Joker is now literally the meta-contextual idea of "The Joker", Batman's most famous enemy and his eternal nemesis. The reason he has multiple conflicting origins that are all vaguely provable is because they ARE all true and he's sort of an idea inhabiting multiple bodies with multiple origins and remembering all of them while retaining the warped personalities of all three.
It's a very Morrison-y thing to do; a real-world narrative effect (the Joker can't ever permanently die because he's too iconic) turned into a literal universal law in DC (the Joker literally cannot permanently die because he's some kind of icon).

I think that everytime the universe was rebooted (infinity,infinite,flashpoint) a different person became the Joker.
Every other character is essentially the same; Nu52 Bruce Wayne is post-crisis Bruce Wayne but with differences etc etc but not for the Joker.
When the universe reboots, some por sod gets turned into the Joker. He still has the memories/experience of the Jokers before but its a different person.
Look at NU52 Joker; Harley mentions he's not the same, when he was "cured" by the lazarus pit, he goes back to sitting on a park bench next to his favourite lake. The man who is NU52 Joker was just some guy, then Flashpoint happens and now suddenly he is a 'host' for the Joker.
The man who was the Joker before? Who knows? Mabe he doesn't remember. Maybe he does. The cured nu52 Joker wants to shoot himself. Maybe he remembers his life before and all the horrible acts he commited.

So I've been thinking, Joker loves his multiple choice past. Killing Joke had him as a scared pawn of the Red Hood gang, while Zero Year had him as a ruthless leader of the gang.
