I'm okay with this.
>>
Cool, we're getting a Birdman sequel.
>>
>>82961939
Please be norman, please be norman
>>
Goddamn, what a fucking world we're living in.

I never would have imagined in a million years someone as A-list as Keaton signing on to do a Marvel-produced Spider-Man and as a villain no less.

It's just crazy to see how the MCU was evolved into such a big franchise that everyone in Hollywood wants a piece.

And to think it all came from Iron Man, a gamble that everyone who worked on it thought it was gonna be a flop.
>>
>>82962178
>someone as A-list as Keaton
What world do you live in where he's A-list?
He's certainly in a resurgance, but he's been irrelevant for most of the new millennium.
>>
>>82961939
I want him to be Vulture so that we can see Birdman play a Bird Man.
It has to be Vulture, he's too old to play any other villain (it can't be Norman since it's confirmed that this movie's villain is new)
>>
>>82962043
It would be amazing to get Norman in the MCU, but not as the bad guy right away. I want to see him replace president Ellis as the MCU president.

He played Batman when he was A list.
It's like saying 2016 fat Val Kilmer is A list.
Just because you reach A list status, doesn't mean you can stay there forever.

Why the hell would you need blade to do Morbius?
just have him be a scientist who tried to replicate the radiation experiment that gave spidey his powers

Then who will play Birdman in the Hanna Barbera Cinematic Universe?

I love watching these big-headed movie execs mismanage these massive projects because they're too prideful and arrogant to do what seems reasonable, and then the movie is shit, the ratings are shit, and they don't get the billion dollars they were expecting
>>
>>82963246
well there was a earlier rumor about the Kingpin appearing in homecoming
i wont be surprised if the movie is Spidey finally dealing with organized crime in new york. thats something we havnt seen that yet in the movies. and hell they can also trow in Hammerhead for the climactic battle
>>
>>82963218
What he said >>82963246
Mysterio can do everything Chameleon can only better, which makes all those times they were both on the Sinsister Six seem redundant.
>>
>>82963254
Okay gotta be honest I never heard about any of that stuff only the stuff for the sinister 6 so thank you anon I am now very very happy it happened because spider gwen is one of my least favourite characters ever.

And lets pray Sony doesn't go through with that venom movie. I can't have them go ruining my favourite character instead. The only way he is going to transition well to cinema is if they use the flash Thompson version and Tony shoots him into space to join the guardians like in the comics.

I mean I love Eddie brock venom I just don't see him transitioning to the silver screen as good as agent venom
>>
I'd be okay with him being Osborn before he becomes Green Goblin/before he's revealed as Green Goblin.
Everyone on /co/ forgets (or rather, nobody on /co/ reads comics and thus never knew) that Osborn's storylines had effect and he was an effective villain because his appearances were slowly built up before each fight WELL before Spidey got around to fighting him.
In addition, 90% of Spider-Man's villains are shitty for "master planner" type guys. Most of them are basically just jumped-up nobodies or professional criminals with a set of superpowers, and trying to come up with complex or sympathetic backstories for every single one gets you confusing stuff like Electro in ASM2 where his motivations kinda make sense but also kinda don't.
Even Vulture is basically just an elderly version of the archetype, an older guy who gets all nuts because nobody gave him credit for his inventions and thus goes full on villain out of a desire for "respect".
>>
>>82961939
>>>82963246
>well there was a earlier rumor about the Kingpin appearing in homecoming

As much as I want to see this happen, not in homecoming.

Kingpin is pretty much set in stone as DDs arch enemy in the MCU at this point. They would have to introduce Matt to Peter first and I just don't think there is enough time with Tony already being confirmed for the movie and the leaked plot of him having to deal with his high-school life alongside fighting crime.

It would make for an amazing sequel or even DD spidey team up movie or something I just can't see it happening in homecoming
>>
>>82962635
It would be cool if they made him the NOT!Donald Trump of the MCU.

Sony and Fox kinda see the real money in these IP's not in the actual making of the films but the payments and deals they can make selling them back.

It's kinda worth noting that the guys making these deals won't actually have anything to do with the production, writing, direction, or even payment of the film.
They just make deals using large sums of money.

you'll never see Harry's mom on screen, she can be anything to justify putting whatever actor they cast for Harry.

2 billion is in reference to total profits, not net box office, so dvds, toys, clothes etc.
>>

>>82962043

Amy Pascal is fucking mentally insane.
She has no idea what she's doing.

They struck gold with Spider-Man 1 and 2 in the early 2000s and they lost it with Spider-Man 3 and Amazing Spider-Man 1 and 2.

They have no idea what makes a good super hero film.
>>
>>82968566
Yeah but they wanted it to be pretty clear they are NOT doing Goblins as villains in this film.

Vulture was one of Peter's first villains, really early on, I think he was in Issue 2, Green Goblin was issue 14.

So they can easily set up Oscorp or the Osborns in this film, without Goblins or saying Norma/Harry Osborn

As long as the story's good it'll probably come down more to the direction and general production.
>>
>>82968808

Yea, if the film (or films seems like they were planning 2 sinister 6 movies) were fun, exciting and as successful as Avengers, they would have made a lot of money.
