>DEEPEST LORE
>Kids Next Door

It really was before it's time. I loved that show for how naturally it flowed from a simple show about 5 kids fighting adults in their neighborhood to this huge show spanning the globe involving a generations long conflict, what's crazy is I can't really tell if it was always planned or it just happened as the show went on.

This ALIENS comic I read when I was a kid.

I was really confused at first and even a little angry because it seemed stupid.

These boy scouts or whatever are on an alien planet and there's a Xenomorph in a mine. Now this is a Dark Horse ALIENS comic. The first rule of Dark Horse ALIENS comics was you didn't finish one without wanting a hot shower afterwards. But in this comic these plucky teenagers outwit that Xenomorph and gosh darn it there are no casualties. The first time in the Aliens franchise and the Xeno munched on NO ONE!

>"Well, that seems kind of improbable as fuck and lame."

I thought to myself. Then you get to the last two pages. Spess Marines show up and congratulate the children. Then just as the whole comic is wrapping up one of the marines asks the group leader.

>"You didn't tell anybody about this, did you?"
>And the kid is like 'No sir!'

Then you know exactly what is about to happen before you even turn the page...

The writer really went out of his fucking way to sneak up on you.

>"Oh no, your ass is in Dark Horse country. Did you forget that, son? Allow me to remind you.... :D"

That's a damn tough question.

Comic: Dropsie Avenue

As well as Eisner's expressive art and sympathetic characters, it's incredibly ambitious. Exploring the evolution of communities is a really cool subject, it engaged me with the individual human stories that built on each other to tell the history of The Bronx. It's got an intelligent view of the different waves of immigration and cycles of decay, you understand the troubles of the individual people while getting a view of the bigger picture.

I don't really watch cartoons. Favourite from my childhood was Ed Edd n Eddy.
