I just started watching this show, and I'm finding it hard to get into it. I've only watched the first 2 episodes, so maybe it gets better, but the comic timing and the animation seems far too choppy and quick.
Is this an SU situation?
Am I supposed to wait for it to get really good?
Do you guys only watch it for green waifu?
Also, I guess just opinions on the show as a whole, seeing as it's apparently not going to last for much longer.
>>
Skip the first season and go right into the second.
>>
>>82905976
>Do you guys only watch it for green waifu?
She's the worst part.
>>
>>82905976
Watch Brainstorm and The Gift 2 (yes there is a Gift 1 but you're supposed to watch 1 first) If you don't like those, then you won't like the show.

The show as a whole gets it's legs when the villains become more self aware and wander gets hammered sometimes for his hippy do-gooding, like with The Quest or The Box. So somewhere around the middle of the first season. Season 2 is great all around.
>>
>>82905976
>but the comic timing and the animation seems far too choppy and quick

You're talking about the entire carnival sequence, right? I thought that was part of the joke.

But yeah, I'd say keep watching a few more episodes before you drop it. It gets good far sooner than SU though.
>>
>>82905976
i found it hard to get into because the characters scream a lot, and i don't like screaming

>>
>>82905976
It starts to get good around six or seven eisodes in. It has a slow shaky start for sure.

>Do you guys only watch it for green waifu?
Nah. It's all about Hater. And Wander gets better, less annoying kinda early on.
>>
>>82905976

It's really good, anon. It's funny, the animation is lovely, the concept is fun.

Dominator is in my opinion the weakest character, though she isn't as terrible as some people make her out to be.

These anons are right.
>>82907510
>>82910061
Season 1 is good, but season 2 is great. Hater is the best character along with Peepers, imo, they really hold up the show.

Though I do disagree, although Wander gets better in season 2 (particularly his interractions with Hater), I don't find him that annoying, Hell, I actually really enjoy The Picnic, which people think is weak and find Wander super annoying.

>>82906046
Speaking of The Picnic and the first season 1 in general, this anon is wrong. Although Season 2 is stronger, watch is straight through, it's all decent and good.

It does take a few episodes though before it truly flourishes. It really is a fun show.

Anons from the previous threads, should I keep dumping fan art? Including the gay stuff.
>>
>>82905976

What? Do you even know what you're talking about? Because that's blatantly false when you look through any of Craigs work. Each of his shows are made for a wide audience in mind, and you can easily see that with all the in-jokes and references he makes that would usually fly right through kids heads.

I just want to see Wander be forced to fight this time. It's the finale, I know he's pure and fighting is wrong, but when you've got pure evil, you have to try to stop them. He's already realized she's friends to no one but her commitment to kill everyone.
>>
It's not often you get a show where an episode's main problem is how to make everyone in a store happy, even if it means costing you what your goal is.

That was the first episode I ever watched and it was so genuine.

>One smart joke doesn't make a captn obvious plot smart

It's not just one smart joke, it's entire themes and references. The Powerpuff Girls was a parody of the entire superhero genre and how ridiculous it is at times, with almost every aspect of the girls lives being a subtle gag one way or another (like the toy phone actually being used to call the mayor for example). What the fuck are you even on about?
>>
>Syl, I've really made of mess of things
>good
>how is that good?
>realizing that is the first step to making things right
>ah syl, you're the greatest
These lines are the most heartwarming ones I've ever heard. This is best moment in the show for me. I feel extremely happy any time I see/hear it.

Another good one is the one where Wander's sinking in quick sand and accepts his fate because he can't help anyone, and Sylvia talks him out of it.

I'm not the kind of fan who sees a negative comment of my top show and tries to immediately defend it, but you have to explain.

Where does it show it's not "smart"? Boring sometimes yea, but it seems like you probably only saw the first few episodes, or some really choice ones. None at all? Clips? You have to give insight when you say something negative, especially when you say more than one sentence but still no reasoning.
>>
>>82913853
I was thinking something similarly. Pretty sure Craig has said Wander is there to teach Hater ho to be a little like him, what if Hater had to teach Wander how to be a little bit like him? That sometimes there are times you need to realize not everything is great, not everyone is wonderful, and sometimes you have to accept this and put your foot down about it.
>>
>>82913853

What is it with /co/'s obsession with "NO, YOURE DOING IT WRONG TAKE OUT THE VILLAIN", like people here are somehow unable to process a peaceful, happy go lucky protagonist, is it because of cape-shit being a central element of the board?

>>82914104

It's essentially a show about the main character being so good natured that his entire quest is to make sure no one goes sad. That could mean either picking up something they dropped, to saving something in need. It's not about mega action in the first season, it's the core of it's existence where Wander's exploits are shown. It's not boring if you like heartwarming good natured characters leading a show who's nicer than most other characters in other shows. Also, Season 2 is only "action packed" because there needed to be a "world turned upside down" aspect. Where it went from mundane and grounded stories to space battles and a threat bigger than before, it's not what it's tried to be all along and finally reached it, but a new arc in an otherwise sweet series about a do-gooder who is more admiral than Finn in the early AT seasons.
>>
>>82915451

Calm down man, sorry I wasn't referring specifically to you (shouldn't have quoted your post) but it's a trend I've noticed fairly often here, whenever the protagonist is a pacifist, people immediately demand he takes up in arms and breaks character. One could say it's one of those "you told me not to touch it so I'm gonna touch it" situations where people just want to see the character do the opposite of what he would normally do except this doesn't happen when the protagonist is a fighter or warrior type.

Hey Disney, make toys out of the smears the characters form in some frames

These would be especially cool to hold: >>82916431 >>82915409 and pic related

I'd probably take these over a few traditional simple ones like Wander just standing, but at this point it'd be cool to have a figure of anything of the show.

Why does every CN creator always have to shoot himself in the foot with his annoying goofy humour and his animation-friendly designs?

For that matter how come we don't see reboots and interviews from the ones who worked on the 90s Iron Man, Xmen, Spjderman.
Plus all those other great shows from Jetix, Foxkids, Warner Brothers, Disney and every saturday morning show.

It's probably quicker, a lot of these smear parts they don't draw, they're either pivots placed elsewhere (that have already been drawn) or quick skews of pure colors in certain areas.

It also makes a lot of scenes where a character goes from one side of the screen to the other quickly look better than all single frames moving, it'd be somewhat slower movement.
>>
>>82919615
24 frames per second isn't enough to convey fast, fluid movement
