Horses came from Khazagstan which may still have a little steppe. And the stirrup was an itterative thing. The huns didn't invent it all at once. Other civilizations had shit like it beforehand. No of course not.
There were always people there so long as there were people to live there.
Just that around 8ish thousand years ago, the proto-Indo-Europeans domesticated the horse somewhere North East of the Black Sea.
With the horse, they could roam further, hunt better, and drink their milk.
Population growth during that period was essentially limited by the amount of food a popular could acquire.
Domesticated horses means a massive influx of food, both directly in the form of meat and milk products, but indirectly with their ability to raid other peoples on horseback.
That meant a massive population increase, and they spread from that region outwards.
They likely bred with the people along they way, but also likely dominated them. You don't adopt an invader's language unless you have a sword at your neck.
And we know for a fact that (almost) all Euro languages and many Asian ones are descended from the first language of that tribe who domesticated horses.

I can't give you a specific source because it's a pretty broadly accepted fact. Just do a little digging, and you can find as many sources as you want.
I can give you some linguistic proof.
Consider the word "heart" in English.
In German, it is Herz.
In Greek, it is Cardia
In Latin, it is Cor
In Russian, it is Serdtse
They all look like different words, but you can see how they all interlock.
The Greek and Latin are the closet to the ancestral language. You see how they start with a hard "K" sound. More than that, they have roughly the same vowel sound following it.
That doesn't seem much like the English and German ones, but according to Grimm's laws (actually one of the same Brothers Grimm), K consonant sounds in the Greco-Roman language family because a H sound. So now you can see how Cardia relates to Heart and Herz. See also the Latin Caput for head and the English, well, Head.
The same with the Slavic languages, the branch of the proto-Indo-European that went East turned that K sound into an S sound.
You can piece all these things together using linguistic laws.

Its pretty clear that fusion between different castes is something the diamonds really don't want. However, its easy enough to do on accident, and alexandrite with four gems could barely stand up to malachite with only two. It might be possible to fuse into a diamond, but it would take more than 5 gems at the "crystal gem" power level. Rose was obviously stronger than say, Jasper, but she probably couldn't make up for that disparity.

Just woke up from a nap, had a SU dream, was odd. Pearl is looking for some and checks on steven. Steven's asleep and she spots another foot sticking out of the covers. She's all like "Ahhaaa!" pulles the blanktet off to see who it is only to find there are several gem shard monsters. She screams, Steven wakes up and they scatter like a roaches. I notice that his gem is glowing and a few of the shard monsters might have assimilated some more of their actual parts instead of random shards.
"I'm like well that's odd." It's one of those semi lucid out of body dreams and while everything is playing out I'm kind contemplating what I just seen. Then I recalled the whole Pink Diamond theroy for Rose and suddenly I'm like "Oh wait!"
My theory now is that Rose might be responsible for some of the early gem experiments but was only into it for restoring gems and not creating monsters, cause healing powers ya know?
