There are things that I don't get about the "emotional spectrum":
1. If the Lanterns are supposed to cover the "emotional spectrum," and there are lantern corps for rage, fear, willpower, hope, compassion, love and greed, is there no lantern for happiness? Or sadness, for that matter? Two of the strongest and most common emotions, integral to life itself?
2. "Love" is not a singular emotion, it is a spectrum of emotions unto itself. If you love someone, you can feel happiness when you're around them, fear at the thought of losing them, anger and/or forgiveness if they transgress you, sadness and grief if you lose them. Likewise for greed. You can feel anger at a person for having what you don't, or sadness if you don't have what they have and so on and so forth.

All the emotions interact with each other constantly, back on the blackest night all the black lanterns could see the lantern's emotions inside of them, showing that none of them were always a single color, while they usually focus on one emotion above the other nothing is stopping them from feeling multiple, also love is deeply caring about someone, it doesn't need to be the traditional kind of love two people have with each other, its pure passion, like how Relic was immune to the sapphires because he was in love with existence itself
