I think it's more likely that no-one at DC knows how to draw furries. Superhero artists are generally very lazy and can't be assed to study anything other than basic human anatomy, which is why the character designs in so many comics look uninspired.

What's the mainstream media's opinion of furries behind the scenes these days? It used to be that the animation industry had a furry blacklist. There was never a furry blacklist on any industry that matters. Even in the worst days of furry boogeymen Disney hired questionable people.
The reality of it is that they don't give a fuck about what their workers do or like as long as they are on time and they can keep to themselves, though it's getting harder to curve hacktivist and political mouthpiece artists from causing PR disasters. I figure furries will slowly stop being THAT weird as the internet culture continues to expand and be assimilated by the common man, and you'll see more openly furry people hold relevant positions, just look at the zootopia cast and crew.
