Butch Hartman went insane or something around the middle of season 2.
Went full Christfag; deliberately overspent Nickelodeon's money; hired actors against their wishes.
Nick exploded in anger. After season 2 they declared war on Hartman. They cut the budget in half for season 3. Fired the head writer, Steve Marmel. Moved the show to dead air slots or aired it overseas before the US.
Butch Hartman storyboarded, wrote, and directed all of season three and then re-wrote a Fairly Odd Parents special for the Danny Phantom finale.

The reasoning is that children don't care about quality. Which is kind of true.
However, the sitcom is dying a largely un-mourned death. Nick is one of the few cable networks still playing them.
