Damn things are nigh unkillable. You can dig them up, put them in a place with no water or light and they'll keep growing for MONTHS. Cut them in half and each can grow into a full plant which in turn can have multiple potatoes on it...I still have 2 bushels of potatoes let that I bought eight months ago sitting in my outdoor basement steps, no refrigeration. They're still good and they're still growing.
