Pixar needs some new artists. No offense, but the faces are blending together at this point. I can't tell if I'm looking at a brown skinned Judy Hopps or Princess Anna. I guess the Mo-Anna would be a hint.

Not hype at all. I like The Rock a lot but nothing about the concept or any revealed art interests me enough to get excited about it.Which is a shame because I'll end up seeing it premiere night and pre-ordering the 3D blu-ray anyway.

I'm getting some serious Pocahontas vibes from this.
The parallels between Moana and it's apparent relationship with Zootopia and Pocahontas and it's relationship with James Earl Jones' Lion King aren't good.
It's on record that Lion King when in production was the B-project to Pocahontas, similar to Zootopia being the B-project to Moana according to some reports. Lion King went on too become one of Disney's greatest successes just like Zootopia has become that and Pocahontas very much less so.
The only thing that puts Moana above Pocahontas is that Moana has a star attached to it. Pocahontas lacked an Eddie Murphy or Robin Williams. But Moana has Dwayne The Rock Johnson. He just might be the difference maker.

Moana has none of that.
Though, in a reversal of the Lion King/Pocahontas scenario, the B project in this case was the one that tackled prejudice.
