I was expecting them to have that "great power comes great responsibility" scene, where Peter tells Tony why he does what he does, but now that I have had time to let it all sit in, I am glad he didn't just parrot Ben's words. It's true Ben's words are what made Spider-Man truly become Spider-Man, but it wouldn't really make sense for Peter to just reveal these intimate, incredibly important things to Tony Stark after they just met.

It's funny because Peter technically DID say that ("if something bad happens and you can do what I do, and you do nothing" and so on), he just phrased it differently then the usual version.
It was a nice way of letting everyone know that he has the same origin story if you understand what he's intimating at without just going all-out and regurgitating the exact same origin story again.
