Not before about a decade ago, no.

Somebody might say Peter David's run. But they're lying.

Nice shit taste, Anons.
>>
>>82771168

Why don't you take up the BANNER then. hephephephephephephephephep
>>

Starts with Gray Hulk. Never got past that bit, it was pretty trash. Maybe it gets better.
>>
>>82771440
According to David they basically gave him the book and told to do whatever the hell he wanted with it, so it took him a couple of arcs to figure out a direction for Hulk that wasn't just "Hulk smash!" again. He's pretty open about the beginning being really rough.
>>
>>82771646
Well shit. When does it get good, then?
>>
There was the time he teamed up with Captain America to kill Slyde's parents
>>
>>82771334
How about "Anonymous"
>>
>>82771763
I really enjoyed all the Mr. Fixit hijinks in Vegas that come a couple of arcs in because the concept was just so different from the stories that came before it. I think it really gets good around the time Banner starts working with Doc Sampson to put his personality back together and you get Professor Hulk interacting with Betty and company in a new way and trying to figure out what to do with his life.

>>82771913
Ish?
>>
>>82771844
Did I do it right?
>>
>>82770810
Pak
All of it
>>
>>82772059
Well, it's collected in the Visionaries series with the good stuff starting around the end of Vol. 5 which we would be like issue #365 or so, I think. I know PAD's run goes well into the 400's and I think it stayed solid at least into the 430's.
>>
Who wrote that arc where Betty dies and Hulk goes after the one he considers responsible and it turns out it was a plot by the Abomination?
>>
>>82770810
Nope Iron man and Black panther are the only comic book characters with good stories.
>>
>>82771913
As much as I liked Professor Hulk, I just couldn't give a single fuck about the Pantheon.
>>
>>82772614
Yeah, they were definitely an odd addition. I ignored them for the most part, but I would say they were definitely the weak link of PAD's run. Except for Ajax. He was great.
>>
>>82772376
Still Peter David.
>>
>>82772474
>Iron Man
Literally one good story, by Ellis.
>Black Panther
Zero memorable stories
>>
>>82770810
Planet is his only good one.
>>
>>82772915
>Demon in a Bottle, Armor Wars, Micheline and Bob Layton in general
>Maybe the Denny O'Neil stuff

>Don Magregor's Jungle Fury
>Priest's run

Wolverine vs Grey Hulk during David's run was GOAT, though.

"Let's....

... "Let's try that again."
>>
>>82774203
Wtf is up with his skull?
>>
>>82774203

If you could post the next few pages I'd be grateful.
>>
>>82774203
pls more
>>
Seriously though, I have all the Hulk issues, I just need to know what David wrote.
>>
>>82772614
Aw man, I liked Pantheon. Troyjan War was pretty fun.
>>
>>82770810
Peter David's and Greg Pak's were worth reading.
>>
>>82770810
I just want a Hulk where he's not a nihilist but also not a megalomaniacal dickhole. Mr. Fixit but slightly less self-interested.

Hulk powers are every man's dream. Rulk had it right, except that he was an aforementioned megalomaniacal dickhole.

Todd McFarlane can't fucking draw.

This list needs to be redone (like Waid's bullshit needs to be removed and Stan Lee's probably should be taken off or at least moved to a "your mileage may vary" category or something like that), but it has all the issues from Peter David's run.
>>
>>82770810
Of course!
The begging of Peter David's run (most of it)
Any Greg Pak stuff like Planet and WWH then don't forget to read TAH if you want non Banner Hulk
Lastly I actually really liked Indestructible Hulk.
>>82770835
>depends on your taste i guess
Of course this anon is correct as with most opinionated things, but I love the vastly different Hulk runs
>>
>>82775557
Sweet! Thanks! It's too late for me to start now so I will tomorrow after work.
>>
>>82771440
I liked Gray Hulk...
>>
>>82775148

Alas, I don't have it all scanned in. It's Incredible Hulk issue 340, though.
>>
>>82775557
No it's perfect as a representation of what /co/ knows about the Hulk

i.e. it is fucking awful
>>
>>82775491
He only ended up on Hulk because David was so cool about working with people. Most of the writers at Marvel wouldn't take him at that point in his career because his storytelling was so shitty.
